The Case

The front of the case is completely clean. Only the spire Logo on the left side is placed on the front. It is divided into three parts. The bottom cannot be opened, while the middle part is the door, which swings open from right to left. Due to the design, the drive spaces are embedded inside the case, with around 2-3 cm clearance to the door. This, coupled with the matte, black color makes taking pictures of the drive somewhat difficult. A great advantage of such clearance is the possible use of devices like fan controllers or multi function panels, which extend outward.

The power and reset button are located on the top left. This is a good location, as you would certainly not place this case on the table, simply because it can exceed 30kg when filled up all the way. To gain access to the front I/O you simply lift this part up. A small plastic part then holds this fairly heavy part in place and only drops down once that part is pushed away. It would have been great to see a more solid solution to this. If the plastic part breaks, this cover will not hold in the open position and you will loose access to the front connectors.

The sides of the case are kept in the usual black. Both sides can be opened without the use of any screws. Just pull the handle towards yourself and the butterfly door will flip down. The back of the case is also covered in the thick aluminum, which looks great and only shows the boring steel where necessary. This case is certainly a great choice for designer homes. The back is cut into two parts, as the backplate and PCI brackets are connected to the door.

The bottom of the rear holds the seven standard PCI brackets. There are individual covers on all of these, so you may reuse them. The middle holds the backplate and an inconspicuous air vent for the fan. The top has an opening for the power supply. Note that you will not have immediate access to the PSU screws. To reach these, the back aluminum plate needs to be removed.
