Introduction

SteelSeries Logo

SteelSeries is a Denmark-based peripherals company founded in 2001. The Aerox 5 is best described as a lower weight Rival 5 with some minor improvements. Much like the Rival 5, the Aerox 5 is equipped with the TrueMove Air sensor capable of 18,000 CPI, which is a customized PixArt PAW3335, along with TTC Golden Micro switches rated for 80 million clicks for the main buttons. The Aerox 5 also comes with nine buttons in total, including a sniper button and a rocker, all of which can be configured within SteelSeries GG. Software customization includes the RGB lighting, which has been revised from the Rival 5 to benefit from the non-solid shell. Unlike the Rival 5, the Aerox 5 has holes all over the top and bottom shell to significantly cut down on weight, resulting in a total weight of just 66 g. Furthermore, pure PTFE feet instead of regular black-dyed PTFE feet are now used.
