The Case

The 3D Storm is a standard size midtower case. The outside is black, with silver aluminum accents down both sides of the front panel. (There is another version available that has black metal accents instead of the silver ones on our case.) Except for a small strip that separates the 5.25" bays from the 3.5" bays, the entire front is covered in black metal mesh. Below the bottom external 3.5" bay there is a symmetrically arranged panel that holds the Power On and Reset switches, the Power and HDD Activity LED's, two USB ports, and the standard microphone and headphone jacks.

The right side panel has the typical molded grip, but is otherwise plain.

The rear panel shows the basic ATX format. The rear 120mm fan opening uses the same honeycomb pattern as the Quarterback, as well as the ability to use 92mm or 80mm fans. The left side panel is attached with silver thumb screws.

The left side panel has a window with no fans mounted, but there are holes to mount a 92mm or a 120mm fan. Unfortunately, a 120mm fan cannot be mounted on the window due to the bracket for the 3D Core Fan. Below the fan mount there is a set of holes for the VGA vent. Overall the window seems small, and this is very evident when looking at the VGA vent. Most video cards would be installed in the top slot, but the VGA vent goes well above that. In an SLI or Crossfire configuration the lower card would get a lot less airflow around it.
