Output Noise

We used a high quality CEM-8852 Sound DB Meter, which was installed 50 cm away from the NAS, for these measurements. The ambient noise in our lab was well below 30 dBA while noise measurements were taken.



Output noise was, while the DS214play was operating normally, even with heavy througput, low enough not to be annoying to those with regular hearing. We would, however, like to see more fan profile options in DSM, or the ability to manually adjust fan speed. There are currently only two fan profiles, silent and cool - an intermediate option would make a nice addition.
