A Closer Look
The Le Grand Macho RT uses a massive single-tower heatsink that utilizes an offset design for better memory and GPU clearance. It weight in at 900g for the heatsink alone, which is comprised of 35 aluminum fins.
Cutouts for better memory clearance are there for those running socket 2011 systems. While the design is offset improves clearance for mainstream systems, it seems as though Thermalright has put a great deal of thought into providing extreme air-cooling performance without sacrificing any clearance.
Thermalright used a black top plate for the Le Grand Macho RT, which adds a nice bit of contrast. The heatsink itself receives heat from seven Ø6 mm nickel-plated heatpipes that pass through a nickel-plated base.
Taking a closer look at the nickel-plated base, there is a nice clean finish, which, while not a true mirror finish, is still good enough to produce a nice reflection if nothing else.
Thermalright provides a TR-TY147B fan. It measures in at 152 mm x 140 mm x 26.5 mm, which makes its dimensions rather unique. It has a PWM range of 300-1300 RPM, which should make it extremely quiet. The white and black color scheme suits the cooler, giving it a neutral theme that should match most systems.
