Finished Looks
Thermalright's Macho Rev.B with its neutral black and white appearance looks good, and while it may not be a perfect match for my test system's red and black motherboard, it does not detract from it either.
The option to mount a second fan for improved performance is there with the Macho Rev.B, but the additional fan clips for one are not included. That said, depending on the placement and performance of the rear-exhaust fan, a second fan may not even be necessary because of the cooler's offset design.
Clearance around the cooler is very good. Users should have no issues with it blocking access to the 8-pin EPS connector.
In terms of memory clearance, the Macho Rev.B proves to be rather accommodating. The fan does loom over the first DIMM slot by a tiny amount, but three slots are completely open for DIMMs with tall heatsinks. Users looking to populate all four DIMM slots will want to keep memory height in mind. While some taller heatsinks may fit, not all will due to that tiny bit the Thermalright cooler encroaches upon the first slot. When it comes to expansion-slot clearance, the Macho Rev.B again cuts things close on the MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming motherboard by getting very close to the first expansion slot; I would classify it as blocking access to that slot. Granted, some cards may fit, but not all will. It is, as such, best to play it safe if you need to use that first expansion slot.
