Thermaltake ARGENT M5 RGB Review

Packaging

Aside from the mouse, one finds a detachable cable, carrying bag, and manual in the box.

Weight

My scale shows around 98 g (+/- 1 g), which is exactly in line with the weight cited by Thermaltake. When judging the weight of the ARGENT M5 RGB, one has to consider that it has side buttons on both sides, which adds quite a bit of weight. The same goes for the aluminium scroll wheel, which further shifts the weight balance towards the front. Though not exactly heavy, the ARGENT M5 RGB is definitely heavier than many competing mice these days.

Cable

The ARGENT M5 RGB features a regular braided cable. The cable is detachable (USB Type-A to Micro-USB), which serves little to no purpose on a wired mouse, other than easy replacement with a more flexible one. Doing so is certainly desirable as the stock cable is of the ultra-stiff sort. The connector sits very tightly, so at least there's little risk of the cable involuntarily detaching during play. Its measured length is 1.80 m.

Feet

The feet on the ARGENT M5 RGB are regular black-dyed PTFE (Teflon) feet. Glide is perfectly fine.
