Luxa2 GroovyA Bluetooth Speaker Review

The Package

Luxa keeps it simple with the GroovyA. It ships in a small and practical rectangular box.

The bundle is pretty limited in that you only get a USB and mini-jack cable. That said, the GroovyA is also pretty cheap compared to other feature-rich bluetooth speakers.

Closer Examination

Luxa's design is very simple and features a stand out of aluminum, which allows you to set the speaker at an angle to the surface it stands on. This helps a little with sound projection, but does penalize weight and size.

The buttons are at two different locations. The on/off switch, the mini-jack in, and USB plug are on the back.

On top of the device are the things that set this speaker apart from the immediate competition. The GroovyA features a full set of media-control buttons, which is very handy. This is a feature we first saw on the Creative SoundBlasterAXX 200 that is almost a full $100 more expensive than the GroovyA.

The device is definitely not as solid as the UE BOOMs we have tested, but it does seem to be on par with the Creative SoundBlasterAXX 200 in terms of build quality.
