Value and Conclusion

  • The 16 GB (2x 8 GB) Thermaltake TOUGHRAM 3600 MHz kit is available for around US$99.99.
  • Solid performance
  • No RGB
  • Great aesthetics
  • High price
Thermaltake has done an excellent job with the design of the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM. The build quality and packaging are outstanding. The heat spreader is simple, effective, and attractive, and the brushed black finish looks great against the gray of the aluminium top insert. The "TT" logo integration as part of the design is an absolutely brilliant move.

Thermaltake didn't sacrifice performance in the name of fashion either as the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM performed well in testing. For overclocking, the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM proved to have some overclocking headroom, reaching 4000 MHz stable with my MEG X570 ACE. When it came to tightening timings at 3600 MHz, the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM managed the "safe" preset. I would definitely recommend a 3600 MHz kit for those building with Ryzen CPUs.

Finally, we come to the price. The Thermaltake TOUGHRAM 3600 MHz comes in at US$99.99. That's a hefty price for this specification. I still think the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM merits a (small) price premium over basic memory kits: the build quality and aesthetics are excellent. If you are looking for a premium non-RGB memory kit, the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM is worth a look.
