Thermaltake has done an great job with the design of the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB. The build quality and packaging are excellent. The heat spreader is effective, and attractive, and flawlessly executed.

The Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB has a top-tier implementation; multiple diffusion bars with bright LEDs and a wide viewing angle. It has good stock lighting effects for those who eschew extra software and excellent software support for those who want it. The Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB is compatible with the lighting software from all four major motherboard vendors, as well as an in-house option.

Thermaltake once again didn't sacrifice performance in the name of fashion either, as the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB performed well in testing. For overclocking, the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB proved to have some overclocking headroom, reaching 3700 MHz stable on Intel and a more impressive 4000 MHz on AMD. My sample was also able to achieve the "Fast" timings preset for Hynix CJR, so these are a good pick for Ryzen.

Finally, we come to the price. The Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB 3600 MHz comes in at US$169.99. That is a high price for this specification; however, the aesthetic, build quality, performance, and RGB controls are excellent. If you are in the market for a 16 GB memory kit and budget is not your top priority, check out the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM XG RGB.
