Assembly

The Yama7 has a relatively unique shape, and its package only contains a few parts. As such, do go over the instructions in the user manual or the downloadable assembly manual. Since it has a specific type of upholstery, it's best to follow through on the instructions ThunderX3 provides. Reading the manual will not only make assembly easier, but will also familiarize you with the chair's ergonomics functions.

Initial Impression

As has already been mentioned, the Yama series uses an ergonomic design that seeks to correctly support as many body parts as possible. This website analyzes how a similar design tries to meet a user's needs.

The next image is from the book "Humanscale" by multi-award-winning American industrial designer Niels Diffrient, who focuses on ergonomic designs. This image describes how and mostly why a chair should be designed in a specific way, following certain specifications.

ThunderX3 took an ergonomic design that is not very common or rare among gaming chairs and drew on some of its elements to create a modern-looking chair. The professional-grade automotive paint finish complements it stylistically, and the armor-like padding provides comfort and probably helps with longevity. The cyan casters add another fine detail to the chair's overall look.

Most of the surface is covered with woven terylene (polyester) and acrylic fiber (wool substitute) with a viscose (made out of wood pulp) backing. Simply put, this chair uses a breathable mesh material that is resilient, flexible, and capable of adjusting to most body types instantly.

Even though the Yama7 has not adopted that typical sports bucket seat design for gaming chairs, it still draws on some pretty useful features from the sports car industry. For quick and easy access to the most useful ergonomic features, two adjustable paddles under the armrests allow you to make on-the-fly adjustments.

Since this is an ergonomic chair, almost all parts are adjustable, including the lumbar support, headrest, backrest's angle and tension, and the seat's position.

The Yama7 is wide enough for the recommended 125 kg (275.57 lb), but a user of 150 kg (330 lbs)—the weight limit—might feel uncomfortable. However, no one in our team weighs that much, so we can't be absolutely certain, either.
