Packaging

The packaging sticks to Valkyrie's over the top nature with a unique design that is one of a kind. On the front panel you have Valkyrie branding and various social media links. Meanwhile, the left-hand side has cutouts for visual interest along with the product name and rated TDP of 230 watts. The back has various specifications, supported sockets, and the warranty length.

The right side is just like the left—no pictures or info there, just the product name and some more cutouts. Looking at the top you will find the Valkyrie logo again but little else.

Contents

While the outer sleeve does little to protect the cooler it is interesting all the same. However, once you pull the two separate boxes out of the sleeve, you are treated to a unique unboxing where the top opens and separates lifting the heatsink out. While this does result in a premium unboxing, it's a one time effort that you won't bother with again. Still the use of foam is appreciated, and the cooler arrived safe and sound, so the packaging served its function.

The cooler provides solid socket support, accommodating all mainstream Intel and AMD sockets. It also supports Intel's HEDT sockets, but there is no compatibility with AMD's Threadripper series. In terms of the hardware design, it's deliberately straightforward, which is a positive aspect.

Common parts supplied for mounting include:
  • 4x Fan clips
  • 4x AMD / Intel standoffs
  • 4x Intel LGA 2011/2066 standoffs
  • 4x Thumbscrews
  • 2x AMD brackets
  • 2x Intel brackets
  • 2x 120 mm fans
  • 1x PWM Y-cable
  • 1x Tube of thermal paste
  • 1x Intel backplate
  • 1x Installation manual
  • 1x Alternative top plate
