Zotac GeForce 8800 GTX OC Edition Review 0

Zotac GeForce 8800 GTX OC Edition Review

Value & Conclusion »

Overclocking

Zotac increased only the engine and memory clock, the shader clock has not been touched - it still runs at the default value of 1350 MHz, that's also why the card is a bit slower than the EVGA KO ACS³ which has a shader clock of 1458 MHz.

We used ATITool to automatically find the maximum core and memory clocks of our card.

In the end the card runs completely stable at 634 MHz Core (1 % overclock) and 1030 MHz Memory (3 % overclock). These overclocks are really small, but you have to consider that the 8800 GTX OC Edition is already overclocked over NVIDIA's default clocks. If you take this into account the overclocks are 10% and 14%.

The temperatures are fine, even when overclocked. After reviewing the Radeon HD 2900 XT I must say I'm amazed every time I use the 8800 GTX Series how quiet their fan can be, even when the card is under a lot of stress.
