Rosewill NEON K85 RGB Keyboard Review

Introduction

Rosewill Logo

It has been over six months since we examined a Rosewill keyboard, and one of my complaints with the keyboard was how it relied more on its price point to leave a mark on the market and that adding on some form of enhanced lighting and functionality control would help further. It is perhaps fitting then that we get to take a detailed look at the new NEON series today, and in particular the NEON K85 RGB keyboard that aims to address those very concerns and put Rosewill in conversations revolving around more than just it as Newegg's house brand. Thanks again to Rosewill for providing the review samples.

The NEON K85 RGB, along with the NEON K51, M52, M55, and M57, is Rosewill saying they want to now offer keyboards and mice to everyone at different price points without having these break the bank. While we will get to pricing in due time, we can see here that the NEON K85 RGB is a full-size, modified US ANSI layout keyboard in black with full 16.8 M per-key backlighting. There are additional keys here in the top-right corner and also some secondary legends on the arrow-key column that all presumably aid with onboard control. On top of it, Rosewill now also has a software driver that further adds to the control and customization options available to the end user. Let us thus begin the review with a look at the specifications below.
