The Patriot Burst Elite is a solid-state drive in the 2.5" form factor, launched in 2020. It is only available in the 1.9 TB capacity listed on this page. With the rest of the system, the Patriot Burst Elite interfaces using a SATA 6 Gbps connection. The SSD controller is the MAS1102B-B1C from MaxioTech, a DRAM cache is not available. Patriot has installed 128-layer QLC NAND flash on the Burst Elite, the flash chips are made by YMTC. Please note that this SSD is sold in multiple variants with different NAND flash or controller, which could affect performance, the "Notes" section at the end of this page has more info. To improve write speeds, a pseudo-SLC cache is used, so bursts of incoming writes are processed more quickly. The cache is sized at 480 GB, once it is full, writes complete at 200 MB/s. The Burst Elite is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 450 MB/s and 320 MB/s write; random IOPS reach up to 40K for reads and 40K for writes. At its launch, the SSD was priced at 145 USD. The warranty length is set to three years, which is above average, but shorter than the five years offered by many other vendors. Patriot guarantees an endurance rating of 800 TBW, a typical value for consumer SSDs.
