This Week in Gaming (Week 22)

As we're hitting the end of May and the beginning of summer, we have another week of a lot of new releases that includes version six of a once popular fighting game as this week's AAA title. We also have a remake of a popular game from 1994, pirates, horses, sports and tall buildings for you. Sounds exciting? Then read on, if not, then, well, don't waste your time.

Street Fighter 6 / This week's AAA title / Friday 2 June

The Highrise / Monday 29 May

System Shock / This week's remake / Tuesday 30 May

Astride / Wednesday 31 May

Super Mega Baseball 4 / Friday 2 June

I tried the SF6 demo; the single-player story mode actually managed to pique my interest. I otherwise have no interest in fighting games.

Definitely not going to buy it at full price, but I might consider it in the future on discount.

You mean that mode where you just fight borderline randomly generated characters?
I mean I love that, that shit is sooo early 2000's, feels like playing MK Deception or so, just really silly oldschool so I love it yeah.

But same, I mean...pfff what Street Fighter did I buy back in the day.....I dont remember,...4 I think? but iwas fun because friends had it as well, they even got those proper arcade sticks controllers, good times but we will see with this one.

Super Mega Baseball is actually good in case anyone is wondering.
It's basically the mechanics of MVP Baseball with cartoony characters and teams.

MVP (to me) was the best baseball series of all time, the controls were simple and effective (offense + defense, and esp. pitching with local MP).
It's too bad EA was so panicked over NFL 2K they sacked their baseball series to lock down the NFL years ago.
