AGON by AOC Announces Q27G3XMN-BK 27-inch WQHD 180Hz Mini-LED Gaming Monitor

AGON by AOC - one of the world's leading gaming monitor1 and IT accessories brands - announces the launch of the new AOC GAMING Q27G3XMN/BK. This forward-looking 27" (68.6 cm) monitor stands at the intersection of revolutionary MiniLED technology and unparalleled gaming performance, packaged at a price that will challenge industry norms. Aimed at gamers looking for a top-level HDR experience with impressive colours at a great price, the Q27G3XMN/BK literally shines through the rest of the gaming monitors.

Boasting a captivating 27" Fast VA panel the Q27G3XMN/BK offers a striking QHD (2560x1440) resolution, features a MiniLED backlight supporting 336 dimming zones. Thanks to this innovative technology, the monitor proudly holds the esteemed VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification, one of the highest levels of HDR, allowing it to display inky, deep blacks and the brightest spotlights at the same frame. By employing 10-bit colour depth (8-bit + FRC), the monitor produces 1.07 billion colours and a high colour gamut coverage (+95% DCI-P3). Positioned at the forefront of gaming monitor technology today, the monitor's 27" size and QHD resolution results in a high pixel density, showing crisp text and images, and with a 180 Hz refresh rate and a remarkable response time of up to 1 ms GtG, ensuring that gamers stay ahead in the world of competitive gaming.
MiniLED backlight meets unprecedented value
At the core of the Q27G3XMN/BK's allure is its standout feature: a revolutionary MiniLED backlight boasting an impressive 336 individual dimming zones. This cutting-edge technology boosts the monitor to DisplayHDR 1000 certification level, providing unparalleled luminosity and contrast. Its Fast VA panel already has an incredible native contrast ratio, and matched with the MiniLED backlight, it simply delivers breathtaking reproduction of high dynamic range content. The full array local dimming (FALD) backlight solution greatly improves the HDR experience by allowing some portions of the screen to be completely black, while keeping others at a very high brightness. Scenes from the most atmospheric, story-driven games spring to life, with saturated blacks and luminous highlights.

Precision and pace: QHD, 180 Hz, 1 ms GtG
The Q27G3XMN/BK hits the mark for gamers who demand the optimum. Its QHD (2560x1440) resolution captures every detail, while the 180 Hz refresh rate guarantees an ultra-smooth gaming experience. With a response time of up to 1 ms GtG using the highest pixel overdrive settings, it stands out as the best choice for fast-paced games, ensuring minimal ghosting. The Fast VA panel makes sure that transitions are crisp even in the most intense FPS and rapid gaming sequences, and it also provides an awe-inspiring, sensory feast for narrative-driven, slower-paced titles. The Q27G3XMN/BK delivers precision and pace in perfect harmony, setting a new standard for gaming excellence.

A balancing act
Gaming isn't just about raw performance; it's also about creating an immersive and comfortable experience.

Ergonomic Perfection: The Q27G3XMN/BK is equipped with an ergonomic stand that offers generous height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustments, ensuring that every gamer can fine-tune their setup for maximum comfort.

Well-Being First: Features such as Flicker-Free technology and Low Blue mode prioritise user well-being during tournaments and marathon gaming sessions.

Gaming Advantage: The added nuance of Shadow Control gives gamers the edge, allowing them to adjust shadow and highlight levels to perfect in-game visuals to easily see enemies hiding in dark corners, for example. By supporting Adaptive-Sync technology, the monitor is capable of using variable refresh rate, therefore eliminating tearing or stutter due to frame mismatch.

Presicion Aiming: A crosshair overlay (Dial Point) enables gamers to aim accurately in FPS games where a crosshair is lacking.

Total Control: The monitor's OSD features can also be adjusted by using the AOC G-Menu software or simply the OSD buttons on the monitor itself.
Redefining expectations with its impressive feature set, the AOC GAMING Q27G3XMN/BK will be available for purchase from late November/early December 2023, at an MSRP of £349.99.

2nd gen QD-OLED are coming in few months, CES 2024, we already have that ASUS qd-oled 32" 240hz panel announced for Q1 2024 (been waiting nearly a decade, getting it day one)

mini-led is great in the sense that it does not have the dredged burn issue OLED have, but response time, halo effect, contrast and just overall image quality really can't compete with OLED.

I prefer seeing mini-led on something like a macbook pro for work, but for gaming, I don't think it's the best IMHO.
