so still stuck with early 2000s 1Gbps nic, also Seagate and WD both had similar single drive "NAS" which werent particularly decent products(Software and lack of redundancy and locked in drives to enclosures).

This is probably one of their few products where 1Gbps LAN is not making it less attractive for the target audience. It's very unlikely someone looking for this will have 2.5G LAN. Most of their other products though could really use higher speed connection. It's just locked behind crazy high Synology-brand premium.

Their nics are STILL on Namek?!

I thought it was bad when I bought a DS220+ for my dad. Can't believe it's still an ongoing problem.
