Just now figured out that CoreTemp's max figure is showing what temp a single core registered. In this test it was my core 5...all other cores were less.

It's an IHS problem nothing to do with wattage.

I think I saw a max of 148w on that Cinebench run.

Doing some research on the daily driver and I ran the same test on the 8700G...exhibits the same behavior. Verdict is CoreTemp is not exactly correct...just a close enough monitor for a quick glance.

Hwinfo64 will show accurately the wattage used at peak, low and average.

I won't even say the wattage I cool with just 16 threads 14700K. It's way higher than 148w lol

This 7900 is just 65w

That's what it should pull at only3.7ghz, base clocks.

You could use cpu-z about tab. Save .txt. open the txt file and look at the power states. This must be done at defaults or it won't be accurate. It will show corresponding v-core to frequency. I do not know if this will show the boost states however.

Sneaking up on it, but not quite there yet. I removed the CoreTemp to prevent blood pressure spikes. :laugh:

Wattage peaked at 157w on this run.

Even though it was boosting to 5538Mhz without throttling I am less than enthused with the performance of this loop thus far. Unsure if I have a poor mount, not enough radiator or pump, or something I may have missed. I don't have anything here to judge it by, but it seems to be struggling somewhat somewhere. The level in the reservoir has dropped a tad, but there are no leaks. I have the front off the case atm and have opened the fill port while I let it run. Possibly a air pocket?

7000-series kinda work like this. Their IHS is too thick, and by design they try to reach 95° if they can. Otherwise, if your cooling is powerful enough, they'll just boost clock and power as high as possible even if the "magic" temperature isn't reached.

Hi,
Likely as I said earlier you're working the bubbles out
Leave the pump at 100% for a couple days it will make the process faster.
Don't top it off yet.
Take off a plug when turned off and let pressure off then put it back on and give it a day or two then top it off.

I just now tilted the case in various planes...seeing fewer bubbles now. I'm going to leave the fill port open and let it run. That drop in level (nearly a 1/4") indicates to me there was some air pocket somewhere...I have no other explanation lol.

Nah, never in 20 years of my loops.

This one was close to 4 years (2016-2020) and was run every day for close to 3 years. Notice my big res : )

This one was run every day for over 3 years.

And this one for over 2 years every day.

And this one dates back to early 2011 and never had any issues back then. Crossfire i7 920, 6950's flashed 70's. Those were the days : )

Yeah rads are tough to get all the air bubble out of them.
That's a main reason I started using quick disconnects to save time doing simple tasks like changing thermal paste/... and avoid refilling time.
Otherwise I would of done a copper/ steam punk build a long time ago hehe

The reservoir was completely full to the top this morning and this is how much the level has dropped. I may tilt it in various positions again before it is over with. I agree...a bad mount would be a pita with this system. :laugh:

She's boosting to 5350MHz right now at idle.

I have the TX360. I think it's pretty good, at least no complaints, but you have to check the screw depth very closely or your going to crush fins.
