bought armored core. refunded it a hour later XD cant get past first boss. useless game
moost of the grapics is very blury.

Your in-game settings were wrong.

I've watched over a half dozen streamers play this game yesterday. One was on a notebook PC with an RTX 3070 playing at 1080p borderless windowed and their graphics were fine. I don't know about the other streamers' hardware or settings but everyone's graphics were quite good, especially for a brand new PC release which these days are often horribly unoptimized.

According to Dark Side of Gaming:

it runs at 4K/Max@120fps with an RTX 4090. Armored Core 6 is the first FromSoftware title that supports framerates above 60fps.

It's important to point out that this title does not support any upscaling technologies like DLSS 2, FSR 2 or XeSS. It's pure rasterization performance. The ray tracing effects are confined to the garage, RT is not used in gameplay so that's not a factor either in framerate.

In the past few days I've also watched some people stream Immortals of Aveum (a few of those streamers played both games). Aveum looks and runs like ass. Aveum is powered by Unreal Engine 5 which also is behind Fortnite. The latter looks and runs great. So clearly it's the Aveum devs who aren't very adept and nothing to do with Twitch encoding.

Whenever a game leaves an itch, I find the easiest way to scratch it is playing that game again.
I just can't with Fallout 3 and NV - the weird shiny faces of the "human" characters have for some reason dipped squarely into the uncanny valley for me since I last played through those games, probably because Fallout 4 did human faces so much better, and as such I get physically uncomfortable looking at FO3/NV's meat puppets.

I always find it sad when I can't replay an old game because its graphics that looked good back then hurts my eyes now. I guess that's the real measure of good game graphics: when it withstands the test of time.

Just got TLOU part 1. Playing it currently and love it so far.

Looking forward to Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2. Slaying thousands of enemies on screen reminds me of the fun I had with Serious Sam 4.
I'll probably get SM2 myself. The first part is one of my favourite W40k games of all times.

I've also just got my coupon code for Starfield. People keep saying that it's a sweet $70 off the price I paid for my 7800 XT, but it's the premium edition of the game, which is $100, not 70.

So basically, I got a 7800 XT for $400 (£420 with delivery, plus a £90 game). :D

I got a 6 months gamepass for purchasing my Asus G16. But I'll wait for Nvidia drivers update optimization and game patches before activating it for Starfield :)

Also a Warhammer fan myself. There's an upcoming Warhammer RTS game thinking of getting if it turns out good.

Pre-release or not, the price remains (even if that doesn't matter much, considering that I never pay full price for any AAA game). :D

The most memorable thing about this year for me is a lot of games being released that run like crap. PC ports have been pretty meh. Hopefully CP2077 PL and Alan Wake 2 change that. I have hopes that the Forza Motorsports port will be decent as well but you never know. The games I enjoyed the most aren't even on PC this year ones a switch game and the other is a PS5 exclusive.

It's always going to be a subjective thing but I also don't really recall a game that I would even consider in my top 100 games ever played that came out this year. Last year had Elden Ring at least which I can understand also isn't a game for everyone. For me baldur's gate 3 was a dud, Diablo 4 started strong but sputtered, UE5 has been a bust so far, and nothing else on the PC is doing anything special.

Always going to be subjective for me it's been a year of the 7/8 ish rated games. Lots of semi decent time wasters.

Not only on PC, but also on the Switch.
I mean, I know there is TotK but I barely played BotW, so I didn't buy the sequel. Good as both are, they didn't click with me.

Zelda and the Metroid Prime remaster where really good otherwise yeah also pretty meh. Pikmin isn't my thing but alot of people enjoyed that also.

The PC still has some big releases though hopefully Horizon 2 is one of them
The PS5 has Spiderman 2

So still time.

Most of the Games that everyone is talking about are Games coming out soon. Can we all agree that 2023 will be one of the most memorable Game releases.
So far, to be fair, only BG3 has really been a thing I will definitely play more than once, and is here to stay, and potential GOTY material, and in my 'memorable' list already even having just scratched the surface. But yeah, there's a LOT of game in there, it surprises, it amazes, the dialogue is not cringe worthy nonsense, its actually built by talent and you feel it everywhere, despite whatever bugs you meet along the way. At its core, every comma of this game had coherent thought put into it, and its great.

The rest? Memorable, certainly not. Decent and 'another thing in the franchise', sure. Starfield for example... its mediocre at best, does the thing we already knew for ages, and doesn't fail miserably at it... but memorable? Not in the slightest, in fact there's numerous things that just don't make sense and/or are shortcuts in game design.

Darkest Dungeon 2... fantastic concept, but mediocre execution. Not bad, very playable... but memorable? Definitely not as memorable as part 1.
Warhammer 40K Boltgun... another very familiar concept in a great setting. Execution, pretty good. I might play it some time again. But memorable... nah.

We'll see.

So far, my most memorable year was 2004 with Half-Life 2, Doom 3 and Need for Speed: Underground 2. Alan Wake 2, Space Marine 2 and Homeworld 3 have the potential to put 2023/2024 right next to it.

Edit: Funny thing that I was running an all-AMD (ATi) system back then (Athlon 64 3000+, 1 GB RAM, Radeon 9600 XT), and then I swapped to Intel+Nvidia. My Witcher 3 upgrade was another AMD system (FX-8150, 8 GB RAM, HD 7970), then Intel+Nvidia again, and now I'm back on AMD (in my profile). It looks like good things happen in the gaming world when I'm on AMD. Or is it the other way around? :D
