AMD Releases Catalyst 10.4a Preview
Sticking to its announcement, AMD released the ATI Catalyst 10.4a Preview driver suite. In the run up to Catalyst 10.4, the company wanted to quickly resolve an important issue pertaining to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 game load times, which made it release a series of preview drivers, starting with Catalyst 10.4 Preview which resolved the issue for ATI Radeon HD 5000 series GPUs, and now the Catalyst 10.4a Preview, which resolves it for ATI Radeon HD 4000, HD 3000, HD 2000 series GPUs. With this hotfix applied, users will experience reduced map game load times on Bad Company 2. Catalyst 10.4 WHQL will be released later this month.

It is not like the older DX9 cards support WDDM 1.1 drivers anyways, the nVidia driver packs support those cards doesn't mean the actual .dll are updated.
Anyways regarding stupid people...
Stupid people are stupid. :p
Edit: Yes the stupid people are the ones that go Quad-SLI on XP or with older cards etc.
On topic, these are good. They solve the flickering textures in crossfire, they made my load times go from 1:30 to about 20 seconds, and my performance has boosted quite a lot - almost feels like crossfire wasnt working previously.
edit: nvm misunderstood was reading too fast lol sry zubasa
He made two observations:
1. ATI doesnt release drivers for cards that technically dont work in 7 (they dont support WDDM1.1, so if you want to use them as WDDM1.0 cards, use vista drivers)
2. stupid people are stupid. Now since he didnt name or even imply that anybody here is stupid, thats not really trolling.
And you know why I acted like this, it wasn't about him really, I just hated fanboism specially for moderators, and I didn't ask you to do anything, you know what I mean.

The XP drivers for nForce were updated maybe once. And that still didn't do the justice (buggy DirectSound for example).
ATI said they dropped pre x2000 support after cat 9.4, but they updated these the drivers to cat 10.2 anyway. That's not so bad.
good find.
If you have an older video card, use a driver that works. I'm still using Catalyst 7.4 on one of my machines.
