ECS Displays Trio of LGA-1155 Motherboards

ECS showed off a trio of socket LGA-1155 Black Series motherboards based on the Intel P67 chipset, designed for next-generation Sandy Bridge processors. It consisted of the high-end P67H2-A, upper-mid range P67H2-A2, and mid-range micro-ATX P67H2-M. The P67H2-A packs most high-end features, making use of an nForce 200 bridge chip, to give out three PCI-Express x16 slots (x16, x16, NC or x16, x8, x8), supporting 3-way SLI and CrossFireX, USB 3.0, SATA 6 Gb/s, and certain overclocker-friendly features. Expansion slots include 3x PCI-E x16, 2x PCI-E x1, and 2x PCI. Connectivity includes dual Gigabit Ethernet.

The P67H2-A2, while lighter on features, is equally overclocker-friendly, in fact more. A rotary-knob on the board has 9 digits, each digit stepping the BClk by 5%, giving the knob the ability to overclock the processor by 45% on the fly. Expansion slots include 2x PCI-E x16 (x16, NC or x8, x8), PCI-E x1, and 2x PCI. There are two SATA 6 Gb/s controllers for 4 internal ports, 4 SATA 3 Gb/s, dual gigabit Ethernet, 8-channel audio, and USB 3.0. The P67H2-M is the simplest of them all. The micro-ATX motherboard features PCI-E x16, 2x PCI-E x1, and PCI; 2x SATA 6 Gb/s, 3x SATA 3 Gb/s, 2x eSATA 3 Gb/s; 8-channel audio, dual Gigabit Ethernet, and USB 3.0. As with every other LGA-1155 motherboard, these can be expected only in 2011.

Is it just me or does it look like the chipset heatsink in the first picture is getting in the way of the first PCIE slot? other than that, excellent looking boards if you ask me :)

lol nice catch, i think its from the angle of the camera, but it does look like it covers the PCI-E slot a bit, i doubt they would be stupid enough to miss that on the offical launch tho :P

The company is EliteGroup and they have been making low end boards for years. They have also made boards for other companies like Dell.

Unfortunately they are usually junk. You dont get updates, bioses etc like we expect from other like Asus and Gigabyte.

If a new CPU or something comes out they wont release a bios to update the board. So your hardware better work with the stock bios or you're screwed.

I have only had a couple of ECS boards that were junk.. Years ago at that.. I have 3 that are 4 years old now and still run perfect.. One has been my kids HTPC board for 2 years.. Plus they all came free with CPU from Fry's .. lol

Lately ECS is starting to remind me of Foxconn back in the day when they were trying to move from bottom end to higher end productions.. ECS has been around so long, it would be nice to see them make some well put together mid range stuff..

I really want one of these MATX boards for my HTPC, I might just go with AMD as I dont think I can wait till 2011, but an HTPC with Xeon processor @ 4.0Ghz would be very nice.

ECS have been producing motherboards for over 20years, while we started in the value segment and had success in offering a affordable solution for users. In the past few years, we also launch few models for the mainstream/performance market with our Black Series. The Black Series have been getting great reviews for providing a lower cost mainstream performance solution with more user performance tuning functions and more features. We have also through these new Black Series products, becoming more aware of our user’s feed back and comments to implement more value/technology in our products.

Our goal is no longer just providing the most cost effective solution for the users, but to offer more innovation on our products as you can see on this page, which of course many manufacture are already doing for the users. But the difference you will see and feel in the future is we will be offering a much faster service and support for our customer not just advertising and selling how great our product is but reaching out to our user who already purchase our products and make sure they are satisfied with our products.

I do genuinely appreciate any comments you have for us, whether is something we can improve on or anything you like about ECS. If ever you should have issue with our service or product, even if you just want to get to know us more! Please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you all again for the comments and support!
