ASUS Introduces P5W DH Deluxe Motherboard with Core2 Duo CPU Support

ASUSTeK Computer Inc., the worldwide leader of motherboards, today introduced the P5W DH Deluxe motherboard, which leveraged rich digital home features and supports both Intel's Core 2 Extreme and Core 2 Duo processors and ATI CrossFire graphics to deliver multimedia entertainment, wireless networking, data protection and easy access and management of various functions without being confined by the computer desk.

2x PCIe x16??? Since when does the i975x have 2x x16?

Glad to see though they stopped using Marvell controllers...
Also, noticed they stripped RAID10 from the ICH7R's capability list? ;-)

i975x has 2 x PCI-E x16, but they become x8 when used together (thats what I think it will be referring to)

I doubt it will use heatpipes, Asus only uses heatpipes on the nforce chipsets in general because Nvidia chipsets run extremely hot compared to the INtel and ati chipsets.

okay from the picture it obviously uses heatpipes, which is a bit pointless as i975x has never needed them yet.... I hate heatpipes on mobos as they dont work anywhere near as well in horizontal or upside down (eg V1000, TJ06) cases

the asus boards that are now in the store for 775 have passive cooling, a heatpipe is the logical "upgrade"
