FinalWire Acquires and Discontinues EVEREST
FinalWire Ltd. today announced the acquisition of diagnostics, hardware monitoring, network audit, and benchmarking software, Lavalys EVEREST. "Today is a significant step forward in our progress to deliver a class-leading diagnostics and benchmarking solution," said Tamas Miklos, managing director of FinalWire. i hope they are only discontinuing the name. or else it would suck not to have everest anymore. :(

When the program had a freeware version (the last was the Everest Home Edition 2.20), most of the users did not buy it.
So they decided to discontinue the freeware product.
AIDA32 → Lavalys Everest → FinalWire AIDA64 Enthusiasts, corporate IT departments, anyone who wants a thorough system diagnostics program with some CPU, memory, and disk benchmarks thrown in.
It's a good tool. Anyway, this news was "offical" over the weekend...
