Announcing the winners of PowerColor and TechPowerUp Pimp My Rig Contest. Over September, we ran an interesting contest open to GPU-Z users, in which the one with the lowest valid 3DMark 03 score gets to win an exotic new PowerColor HD 6970 X2 dual-GPU graphics card, and one lucky participant with any valid score, is given a PowerColor HD 6870 X2 graphics card.
And the winners are:

I was so close, I had the first three tests down to giving zeros, were it that I had all month, rather than two weeks, I am sure I would have achieved a valid zero.
Oh well, that is life I suppose.
Shameless!
EDIT:
Maybe he/she is, I looked for Sheng, but it appears it is vavyn.
@Arctucas
what was your lowest score?
Enjoy your card.
Well... that is life I suppose[2]
So sad, I wish I had known ORB was changed.
Build a bridge and get over it.
Congrats mate. Hope you have fun with your new 'toy' :toast:
There were a lot of us that actually used old computers such as Pentium 4's or older that ran the benchmark legitamately with AGP 4x cards without any background programs running. The winner most likely bogged down their system with Furmark and other high resource intensive programs while running 3dmark. unfair contest if you ask me... The rules were not specific enough and did not outline exactly what could and could not be used. If I had known it was allowed to run all these background programs while the benchmark was running, I would have had a better chance since my computer actually is 12 years old and runs on IDE hard drives.
There is no way a Phenom II X6 system can legitimately be slower than a Pentium 4 system.
Just my 2 cents. Thanks for running the contest but next time please improve the guidelines other than just saying "no laptops".
The official rules page was missing several addenda and clarifications.
Let's hope the next competition is either "random" or "simple rules stated up front and gives a chance to people with older rigs in need of an upgrade to win".
I find these competitions don't do the due PR value when Mr Deep Pockets with the latest gadgets wins.
Like I said before, no knocking THIS winner, let's not go back on his legitimate claim. But let's set it up right next time round. Let'shave a nice healthy spirited competition where we are all happy to cheer the winner :toast:
You could never ensure the prize went to someone with a crappy system, as anyone could have just dug out/bought/borrowed an old PC to use for the contest, whilst their super computer sat next to it
3DMark score = (GT1fps * 7.3) + (GT2fps * 37) + (GT3fps * 47.1) + (GT4fps * 38.7)
