I wonder who still buys optical media drives? I haven't burned any CD's or DVD's for like years. Actually i'm a lier. I burned a firmware update disc for my Crucial M4 few days ago.
I use online storage, portable HDD's, USB drives an memory cards. So much faster and practical. And re-usable.

I got that samsung bluray reader cause it looked nice. Never played a bluray in it haha.

How come write speeds always end up higher than read speeds? I get noise level issues for movies/music but shouldn't it scale with demand? When a program demands more throughput it should scale up to at least the same speed as the writing. If anything a variable approach like that might make for quieter usage in movies.
