ViewSonic Introduces the VP2770-LED 27-Inch WQHD IPS Monitor

ViewSonic Corp., a leading global provider of computing, consumer electronics and communications solutions, today announced its latest 27" IPS professional grade monitor - the VP2770-LED.

"For professions such as digital photography, architecture, computer engineering and design where true color and total screen viewing is essential, a professional grade display can make all the difference," said Erik Willey, LCD monitor and PC product marketing director at ViewSonic. "Our VP2770-LED IPS monitor is the most comprehensive choice for the professional user, offering stunning color accuracy, wide viewing angles, full ergonomics, and multiple inputs for a full range of connectivity."

Keeping professional needs in mind, the 27" VP2770-LED Super IPS LED monitor features a WQHD (Wide Quad High Definition) 2560 x 1440 resolution with 3.7 million pixels (nearly 80 percent more pixels than a standard 1080p display), for stunning high definition details. With 1.07 billion colors, a high 20M:1 contrast ratio, super wide 178 / 178 viewing angles, and high compatibility with most third party color calibrators on the market, the VP2770-LED delivers the most color accuracy for color critical applications along with ultra sharp detail for super realistic images.

For added compatibility and functionality, the VP2770-LED offers flexible connectivity options such as DisplayPort, HDMI, Dual-Link DVI and VGA, along with four USB ports to support peripherals. In addition, VP2770-LED provides users with full ergonomics including height adjust, swivel, tilt and pivot, plus VESA mount compatibility for optional wall mounting functionality. With the combination of the WQHD LED panel with IPS technology, full connectivity and advanced feature set, the VP2770-LED delivers a first class user experience for professionals who value image quality, connectivity and functionality.

The VP2770-LED includes a 3-year limited warranty, and the industry's best pixel performance policy. The display will be available in North and Latin America this month for an ESP of $799.

Looks great, a lot of money but, guess you have to pay for the extra pixels etc. That sort of res is great for multimedia applications.

Looks good and I'm glad to see more screens with that resolution.
Now, can it run at 75Hz and higher? And I understand for wanting to have HDMI on the checklist but why keep including d-sub?

A bit too expensive imo. I really can't wait until 2560x1440 displays comes down in price.

Price gouging.....

The Koreans are building a 27in XP monitor, and shipping it halfway around the world for half this price and maintaining profitabilty. If you knew how inexpensive it is to produce todays flat-screen monitors you would weep.:banghead:

Are you sure man? You don't need anything over 8x AA on something over 1200p maybe that's why a 7970 wasn't enough.

I am just fine with a couple 6990s (count it as a single 6990 cause scaling over 2 GPUs is terrible) on 1600p.

My pair of 6970s handle everything I throw at them at 1600p, but I always shut off AA as there is no real need for it at that res.
I'm not that fussy either, so take that into consideration. :D
