BitFenix and TechPowerUp Announce New Giveaway

Announcing this week's Facebook Giveaway, in partnership with the fine craftsmen at BitFenix. We are giving away an awesome new BitFenix Ghost ATX mid-tower, two BitFenix Prodigy Fire Red and Atomic Orange cases (one each), and one each of BitFenix Recon Black and Recon White internet-enabled fan-controllers. Sounds good? All you have to do is fill up a tiny little form on Facebook (or make Facebook fill it for you), to stand a chance to win one of these.

Edit: One of our fans made a YouTube trailer for this contest: TechPowerUp - BitFenix Giveaway Pretty nice!

Congrats to the previous winners :toast: And the Ghost looks like a sweet case. It's tempting me to ditch going for a side window case. I'm looking at the Corsair Obsidian 650D but it's just crazy expensive, the Ghost looks like a very good case for the money. If I really, really wanted to I could put a side window in myself.

Not true actually. Not ALL the rules at least.

When the first facebook giveaway was launched, there was a promise by w1zzard himself that this wouldn't become a standard, and that regular giveaways would be equally present. Seems like this has been forgotten already.

I prefer the ways some other sites are able to do giveaways. They do a facebook if you want OR another method.

The legal environment in many countries is such that, if you require people to "like" on facebook, you are entitling them to a competition if and only if they give you compensation. In this situation, not money directly, but "specific and directed work" that will benefit and promote TPU and/or the giveaway partner. It would be a great shame to see TPU fall into a legal mess when legal and regulatory obligations are being ignored.

Anyhow, giveaways? Love 'em.

personally, i wish tpu would be exempt from all international laws so that you can take control of the globe and fix things for us all.

that being said, i deleted my facebook account about 6 months ago because my privacy concerns were simply to great. giveaways are awesome and you can do what you want but please understand those of us who cherish our privacy would like to see some bones thrown our way. now i sound like a child. ok, it's not that important, just something to think about.

Just be careful you don't create a clique or cabal, and therewith, unwhittingly ostracize the other section of your community. If you believe fb-exclusives help to build your community, then with the same logic, excluding members might do the reverse for that section of your community.

I actually find all of this politik quite interesting. I like a little drama... so for the time being... keep it fb-exclusive. :pimp:

I think a lot of you forget that the competitions are done in co-operation with the company giving away the prizes and as such if they stipulate that the competition should be on Facebook, do you really think that the website that wants to run the competition has all that much to say about it?
If you're all so paranoid, set up a "fake" facebook account where you only enter competitions and have no friends...
