AMD Centurion is FX-9000, Scrapes 5.00 GHz

Mid-April, we learned that AMD was working on its next "TWKR" chip for overclockers, based on the existing "Vishera" silicon. It turns out it is, and scrapes 5.00 GHz frequency at some unreal TDP levels for a client processor. SweClockers reports that AMD is working on at least two new socket AM3+ FX-series processors to make it competitive against Intel's 4th generation Core series. Among these are the FX-9000, and the FX-8770. The FX-9000 leads the pack with 4.80 GHz out of the box clock speed, and a TurboCore frequency of 5.00 GHz. Clock speeds of the FX-8770, on the other hand, haven't been disclosed. A catch here is the TDP of these chips. Two hundred and twenty Watts! The jump from 3.80 GHz to 4.80 nearly doubled TDP from 125W to 220W. Prices of the two remain under the wraps. AMD plans to unveil the two at E3, sometime between 11th and 13th June.

Either it's very expensive OR you have a lot of stuff that guzzles the stuff.

EDIT: You have two FX CPUs. You only have yourself to blame. ;)

Buy an atom or stop complaining. Anyone with a highend rig who complains electricity is too expensive has the money to afford it.

What sort of heating you got? Don't know what the prices are in Norway but that is A LOT. In recent years air heat pumps have become quite popular here. For a lot of people the investment is repaid in a couple of years. Off topic a bit here though. :)

Reviews etc. Need reviews. And a product.

yea its alot, but i got rack servers in my basement
puu.sh/38Vpu.png, i also got 16 computers on second floor.
so power draws is high, yes i got a heat pump but i use that for ventilation in the house, and for servers. the walls here are about a meter thick so heating is a old school oven ;) uknow these u put wood in, its quite nice. i got my watercooling system upstairs for some of my computers, copper pipes in the walls and quick connectors as sockets for the computers, if i get lan party they connect themselfs to the quick connectors and we play, but they hafto use same coolant and have the quickconnectors themself, but some of my friends has that.
i work with computers daily, i do draw alot but its not my job atm to do. but this is so offtopic sorry
