Acer Introduces New Multimedia Monster, Predator AG3 Series

Acer America today announced the U.S. availability of the Acer Predator AG3-605 Series of desktops offering power, performance and superb audio for games, movies and more. Targeted at those wanting a mainstream gaming or multimedia machine at an attractive price, the Predator AG3-605 Series desktops are available in a range of configurations with a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) starting at $999.99.

Putting users in the middle of the action, these new multimedia powerhouses are outfitted with EAX, a collection of powerful technologies that provide sophisticated sound effects. Designed by Creative Technology's world-class team of audio professionals, EAX creates a more dynamic gaming experience that includes audio cues, which give gamers a competitive advantage in multiplayer games. In addition, Sound Blaster Cinema, which is powered by a suite of audio playback technologies, delivers dynamic sound similar to what's experienced in films and recording studios. The systems also feature embedded HD audio with 5.1-channel surround sound. Another practical feature is an exclusive headset cradle that enables gamers, movie and music lovers users to hang their headset directly on the machine, freeing up space elsewhere.
"Our new Predator AG3-605 Series offers a range of models to suit various power and budget requirements for those needing a system for games and other multimedia pursuits," said Frank Chang, director of desktop product management for Acer America. "Outfitted with fantastic audio technology and Intel's fourth generation processors, these desktops give gamers and multimedia enthusiasts a robust system for enjoying the latest mainstream games, music and movies. Plus, the inclusion of solid state drives in select models adds the extra convenience of storing the PC's current state, so users can pick up where they left off with ease."

Powerful, Speedy, Responsive

The Predator AG3-605 Series desktops are advanced multimedia centers with a cutting-edge chassis featuring orange grooves that visually shout speed. These robust systems provide up to 32 GB DDR3 dual channel memory for deftly handling fast frame rates during game play. Offering up to a fourth generation Intel Core i7 processor with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, the Predator desktops deliver the power necessary for fueling enhanced HD video playback and rousing game play. Whether it's HD or 3D, multitasking or multimedia, these processors deliver speed and responsiveness.

For added convenience, select systems come with up to a 120 GB SSD drive that stores the current PC state, so that when the user logs back on, any websites, emails or documents that were open prior are instantly restored. Some configurations also offer a Blu-ray drive that showcases 1080p movies in stunning clarity and precision. Plus, with up to a 3 TB 7200 RPM SATA3 hard drive, the Acer Predator AG3-605 Series can store a vast collection of games, movies, music and more.

These machines are primed for fun and excitement outfitted with NVIDIA GeForce GTX660 Graphics with 1.5 GB of discrete video memory. Built for fast and fluid 1080p gaming, this graphics solution infuses the latest Direct X 11 and NVIDIA PhysX-enabled games with stunning visuals and can manage fast frame rates during game play thanks to up to 32 GB DDR3 memory.

An HDMI port enables connection to a TV or display via just one cable. Contributing to the clean design, Bluetooth technology wirelessly connects the system to other Bluetooth-enabled devices such as headsets, phones, printers and handhelds, while 802.11a/b/g/n provides wireless internet.

The audio jacks, SD card reader, four USB 2.0 ports and four USB 3.0 ports were strategically placed for easy access. Plus, an ergonomic handle on the backside enables users to comfortably move the machine to a different location.

Ample Expansion, Cloud Sharing

Ample expansion is provided via two available PCI-E x1 slots as well as open bays for a 3.5-inch hard disk drive and a 5.25-inch optical disk drive.

Acer Cloud enables access to data on all computer devices from both in and outside the home, even across multiple operating systems.
