Oh, sorry, the ES-HF300 are about $50 less expensive, I guess that disqualifies them... :banghead:
I used to own a pair of AKG K701, Beyerdynamic DT990 and a pair of modded FOSTEX T50RP, they were decent -but after trying out a pair of high quality speakers I vowed to never use headphones again, no matter the circumstance.

Manages to beat Shure 535 in rankings, I can assure you that Monster does make good IEMs. Just because most of the things Monster/Beats make are absolute garbage doesn't mean all of them are.
When I got them I have to say I was blown away. They were much better than I expected and other than being a tiny bit on the small side (snug fit) compared to other nicer cans I was pleasantly surprised. The overall sound quality was very good, much higher than my Sennheiser PC350 headset (which you would expect comparing to a headset). I still think they are a tad overpriced, $300 is a lot considering you can get some very nice Sennheiser HD cans for less, but all things considered I've really enjoyed my Beats.
I still don't know if I'd pay $300 for these, but don't knock them without having tried them. They aren't just a brand setup to fleece people with an inferior product. Monster may be overpriced, but one thing they do is take pride in producing high quality products. I have never owned a Monster product that hasn't been top notch (my Monster Power is a key part of my home theater setup).
Also, for what it's worth: I no longer work in sales, I'm a software developer and have been for the past three years. I look at Monster as a consumer now, not someone trying to sell their products.
