NEC Adds Two New LCD Monitors to Its Desktop Portfolio

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today the 24-inch MultiSync E243WMi-BK wide screen desktop monitor and the AccuSync AS172 display for corporate and small-to-medium-sized business users.

The E243WMi display features a premium-grade AH-IPS panel, which provides wide viewing angles, outstanding color consistency and image accuracy. It also includes DisplayPort for added connectivity options, multimedia speakers, and a stand that is fully adjustable. The AS172 LED-backlit LCD monitor features an ergonomic design and high-contrast screen.
Mercury-free LED backlighting improves energy efficiency, reducing power consumption by 34 percent in the E243WMi and 50 percent in the AS172 displays. The displays also are compliant with ENERGY STAR 6.0 and TCO 6.0, bear EPEAT Silver ratings, and include ECO Mode and carbon footprint meters.

"LED backlighting and a host of other environmentally sound features like a carbon footprint meter speak to NEC's leadership in environmentally friendly displays."

The E243WMi includes the following features:
  • 24-inch (23.8" viewable), 16:9, LED-backlit LCD wide screen desktop monitor
  • AH-IPS panel
  • 1920 x 1080 native resolution
  • DisplayPort, VGA and DVI-D connectivity
  • Fully ergonomic stand with height, pivot, tilt and swivel adjustability
  • Touch-integratable
  • Multimedia speakers
  • Available in black
The AS172 includes the following features:
  • LED-backlit LCD monitor
  • VGA and DVI-D connectivity
  • Tilt adjustability
  • Rapid Response technology, which delivers virtually uninterrupted, undistorted viewing of high-speed, full-motion video
  • Power manager (IPM) system and off timer, which provide innovative power-saving methods and reduce CO2 emissions
  • Available in black
The E243WMi and AS172 will be available in February 2014 at an estimated street price of $259 and $149, respectively, and ship with a standard three-year parts and labor warranty, including the backlight.

Love how NEC has a stable and solid monitor range that are great for the corporate environment. Plus no nasty surprises and I bet the UI on the controls will be same as monitors 10 years ago. Support staff love this sort of thing.

Oh yeah, can't beat generic :laugh: Notice how they don't even specify the resolution of the smaller monitor. It's very likely to be 1280x1024, but why hide it?
