MSI Unveils the GT72 Dominator Pro Gaming Notebook

MSI Computer Corp, a leading manufacturer of computer hardware products and solutions, unveils the GT72 Dominator Pro, the new icon in mobile gaming notebooks. Designed for the mobile gamer who demands gaming prowess and unmatched gaming experience above all, the GT72 Dominator Pro gaming notebooks are armed with top-of-the-line components, including an Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M discrete graphics, Killer DoubleShot Pro, Super RAID, and more.

"The GT72 Dominator Pro will turn heads with its ultra-sleek design and drop jaws with its pixel shredding performance," says Andy Tung, president of MSI Pan America. "The completely redesigned flagship gaming notebook incorporates the heralded elements of previous GT versions into a brand new chassis that maximizes performance and user experience."
Streamlined, Cutting-Edge Design
The GT72 Dominator Pro showcases a completely redesigned chassis measuring less than 2 inches thick, almost half an inch thinner than its closest competitor and lighter than most desktop replacement notebooks. Inspired by high-performance exotic cars, the gaming notebook fuses a one-piece aluminum chassis with customizable lighting effects for superb aesthetic pleasure. MSI's GT72 Dominator Pro utilizes a frameless pseudo-glass palm rest for superior comfort, has an enlarged seamless track pad for easy scrolling, equipped with quick launch keys including a one-touch stream sharing button via XSplit Gamecaster and gives gamers easy access to upgrade storage and memory.

MSI's GT72 Dominator Pro design also improves on the cooling system and overall airflow. The updated thermal design now features a dual fan cooling solution with technology used in MSI Twin Frozr video cards that significantly improves system stability and performance while remaining whisper quiet.

Superior Hardware
MSI's combination of high-end gaming components allows the GT72 Dominator Pro to blaze through any game or task. Outfitted with up to 4x M.2 SSDs in RAID 0, MSI's unique Super RAID 3 technology allows 1600 MB/s of reading performance, 15x faster than a traditional 7200 RPM HDD.

The GT72 Dominator Pro is also the first and only gaming notebook equipped with Killer DoubleShot Pro, a technology that combines both Killer E2200 Game Networking and Killer N1525 Wireless-AC to deliver the fastest data transfer speeds available in the world. Killer DoubleShot Pro Network Manager automatically prioritizes which programs should run on which connection, freeing bandwidth for lag free gaming.

Unmatched Immersive Experience
Engineered to master any game at any setting, the GT72 Dominator Pro is also designed to provide the most complete mobile gaming experience possible. MSI partnered with SteelSeries to develop a keyboard with brighter backlight LEDs, a frameless design that offers a solid and tactile feedback, and the powerful SteelSeries Engine application for customization and programming every key. The GT72 Dominator Pro also features a large 17.3-inch Full HD Anti-Reflective screen, extreme graphics with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M, MSI's Audio Boost 2 technology, and Dynaudio speakers & subwoofer that produce a deeper bass output with high fidelity audio for a crisp and clean sound without distortion.

MSI's GT72 Dominator Pro is now available starting at $2,599.99.

The GT72 w/ 880M is definitely a little more than the GT70 w/ 880M. But compare it to the ASUS G750JZ w/ 880M at $2499.00; and the price seems right in line...

Why is it funny?

I just bought a 256GB drive for little more than $100, MSi with their bulk buy orders and trade discounts would be able to buy 512GB drives for not much more.

$2600 for a laptop with 128GB drives is poor value these days.

I agree, I went on Sager and made a notebook with dual 880m cards and an upgraded processor (Standard 7200rpm HDD mind you) and the usual amenities for 2500ish which is the base price of this machine. I love this notebook and MSI in general, but they have alot of overpriced upgrades standard on it and a very high starting price for a notebook that does not support SLI or CFX naturally.
