TRENDnet High Speed Universal USB 3.0 Docking Station Now Available
TRENDnet, a best-in-class wired and wireless networking hardware brand, today announces the availability of the Universal USB 3.0 Docking Station, model TU3-DS2, which improves workstation efficiency for on the go professionals. The TU3-DS2 removes the burden of working on a small non-ergonomic ultrabook or laptop while in the office. Travel with a compact laptop and plug into a functional workstation at the office with TRENDnet's TU3-DS2. With no CD installation-build an ideal workstation by simply connecting all devices to the TU3-DS2. A vertical space saving design connects peripherals using a small desktop footprint.
The TU3-DS2 adds two 1080p HD displays to a workstation for a total of up to 3 displays (including the laptop or ultrabook display). Full 5.1 audio channel support is provided to the connected HDMI display and convenient audio headphone ports are located on the front of the docking station. Connect SuperSpeed USB 3.0 storage and flash drives to the two 5 Gbps USB 3.0 ports. Network other USB mouse, keyboards, printers, and scanners to the four USB 2.0 ports.
High performance Gigabit speeds over the network are maintained with the Gigabit Ethernet port. Compatible with Windows and Mac (OS 10.9 only) operating systems, quickly dock your computer by connecting to the TU3-DS2 with the included high speed USB 3.0 cable.

Since this one is USB 3.0 compatible I think it removes most of the bandwith issues, but it`s only my guess.
the big thing i see, is that people buy these as a dock to use an external screen or projector - and if its too slow for video playback, a lot of uses suddenly get thrown out.
