Toshiba Expands Internal Desktop HDD Offerings to Include 4TB and 5TB Models

Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today introduced 4TB and 5TB1 capacities of the Toshiba Desktop 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Serial ATA 3.0 Hard Drive, a device that provides a convenient and reliable way to upgrade your desktop computer. With this product, Toshiba combines its proven and reliable hard drive technology with a Serial ATA interface to provide increased performance, capacity and compatibility.

"Toshiba has been developing and manufacturing hard drives for more than 20 years," said Maciek Brzeski, Vice President of Branded Storage Products, Toshiba Digital Products Division. "The time is right to upgrade our offerings not only to meet, but to get ahead of consumers' expectations by expanding our offering of our internal 3.5" hard drives to 4TB and 5TB sizes."
Compatible with most major brands of Serial ATA enabled desktop computers2, Toshiba hard drives use proven state of the art Perpendicular Magnetic Recording (PMR) technology, Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and TMR Head Recording technology for increased capacity, reliability and performance. Low power consumption and internal shock detection and ramp loading technology, to help protect the drive, are two industry-leading features built-in to the drive. Support is available for Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and Windows 7; Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9; and Linux.

Pricing and Availability
Beginning today, the Desktop 3.5" Internal Hard Drive is available for purchase at select retailers and on toshiba.com/us/storage for $299.00 MSRP3 for the 4TB model and $399.00 MSRP for the 5TB model4. A 3 Year Standard Limited Warranty5 is included with each model sold in the Americas (U.S., Latin America and Canada).
