EVGA Announces Pro SLI Bridges V2

EVGA has amped up the bling with the EVGA PRO SLI BRIDGE V2. These redesigned bridges come with several improvements over the previous generation SLI bridges. Not only do these new bridges light up and look great on select graphics cards, they also have a high quality aluminum shroud and are optimized for the next generation display resolution and refresh rates, with a high pixel clock frequency design that gives best performance for 120Hz+ and 4K+ gaming.

I'm pretty sure SLI connectors are just bridges with no actual circuits on them so EVGA is talking out their ass as usual when they say "High pixel clock design optimized for 4K+ and 120Hz+ gaming"

I'm sure some fool will buy these and a 1000$ HDMI cable to go with them.

Can be donated in addition to their motherboards. And thereby increase sales of their bad motherboard offers. With so little invested in it added some lipstick and an geth additional price increases. Ultra expensive shit boards recently. But will not increase performens, only consumption of the extra power on LEDs. and only with their latest generation GPUs offer will LEDs luminaires . Not to mention the poor supply of such extra and additional customs procedures when purchasing.

How exactly do you optimize a proprietary standard beyond NVIDIA specified specs of bunch of wires with no circuitry? That's like saying, we've optimized power cables. They are now ready to accommodate powergrids up to 250V at 50Hz for European market! Yaaaay!

That said, I could see these looking good if you were case modding or something. But please, don't pretend they do anything other than look pretty over the other cables...

....and yeah after spending several hunderd dollars on sli cards.... $30 bucks or so aint too much for a bridge. Would have been nice if it was rgb or we could create our own message though....

Exactly.
It's great how AMD came to their senses and now just use up the ample of available spare PCI-E bandwidth instead.
I bet the only reason Nvidia didn't end up doing the same by now is probably because "hurr durr consumers want to see and feel an actually additional connection between the cards, even if doing that is not really necessary. kappa."

Evga was the first manufacturer who started making these LED SLI bridges couple of years back. It went largely unnoticed until recently. Now it seems all the major players want to milk money by making these SLI Bridges.

Nvidia should do what AMD did, Crossfire over PCI Express and since PCI Express isn`t fully utilized if you are using PCIe 2.0 x16/PCIe 3.0 x8 just to be on a safe side, performance will not suffer:

But... But... They're made from continuous crystal 100% pure OFC litz wire with teflon dielectric and gold plated conectors. :shadedshu:

Nvidia have an implementation in the works. NVLinkwill see the light of day with OpenPOWER implementation, and hopefully it gets folded into the PCI-E 4.0 specification rather than the added expense of a dedicated chip and electrical traces.

Pro SLI bridge....rly? :D gotta love that creativity on the general meetings :D I can see what happened. It was like:

"-Guys we need to create a need for something that has eluded everyday SLI-users. Something they have never thought could be tweaked.

- Ahhh sir, how about "we make a Pro SLI bridge?

- Excellent idea young padwan" ;)

Joke aside, for the bling factor it might be worth it I guess.
