AMD FirePro Graphics Powers Virtual Reality Solution From zSpace

AMD today announced that zSpace has chosen AMD FirePro W5170M graphics to power the new zSpace for Education enabling real world virtual reality in the classroom. Unlike other VR solutions, AMD FirePro professional graphics-powered zSpace for Education delivers interaction and group collaboration through a VR precision 'stylus' to naturally access the virtual experience matched with a head-tracking computer display in an innovative, all-in-one design.

The zSpace for Education solution features an easy-to-use interface that is natural and intuitive. zSpace will implement AMD's LiquidVR technology, harnessing AMD GPU hardware sub-systems to make the virtual reality experience as comfortable and as realistic as possible. "AMD is proud to work with zSpace to power their new real world virtual reality solution," said Sean Burke, corporate vice president and general manager, AMD Professional Graphics Group. "AMD FirePro professional graphics deliver the features and horsepower required for this innovative new product which requires exceptional visual performance."
"AMD FirePro graphics technology is an important piece of our next generation all-in-one solution for education, which is designed to deliver the world's most natural and realistic virtual reality experience," said Paul Kellenberger, CEO zSpace, Inc. "AMD FirePro graphics provides the performance and features required to deliver the ultimate virtual reality learning experience. With AMD and zSpace technology, students learn highly engaging concepts that would be too complex, expensive, messy and/or dangerous for a normal classroom."

The new zSpace for Education empowers students to "learn by doing" in a virtual environment where it is easy to undo mistakes, make changes and not worry about material costs or clean up. zSpace for Education also includes a comprehensive and expanded content and application library that can be introduced into the core curriculum and utilized by multiple grade levels. For example, with zSpace for Education, students can dissect a frog, or even a human, right within the science class. Alternatively, students can build a quadcopter without worrying about cost or safety -- all accomplished during a 45-minute middle school science class or college anatomy class.

The new zSpace for Education with AMD FirePro W5170M professional graphics is featured in the zSpace booth #300 at ISTE 2015 in Philadelphia, June 28 through July 1, 2015.

PatriotzSpace is their own company... using amd products
zspace.com/product
PatriotThen you didn't read the article or their website... can't help you with that.
well what it does if they choose their own tech? who really care ... project Quantum showed that even AMD could use Intel ... supposition : so they could use nvidia for zSpace but ... nah unlike cpu their workstation GPU are enough ;)

btw which article on the site? i can't see it tho o_O or i am blind ... ahah

nor do i see AMD held instead of privately held in that sentence (backed up maybe but held? )
" zSpace is a privately held, venture backed company located in Sunnyvale, California, and has filed more than 30 patents for its innovative technologies."

nah it doesn't really matter in the end.
