AMD "Polaris" Based Graphics Card Display Connector Layout Pictured
At its Capsacin event, AMD demoed one of the first DirectX 12 AAA games, Hitman (2016), on a machine running its next-generation GPU. This GPU is based on its "Polaris" architecture, and while the press got no specs to take home, they did catch a glimpse of the card's rear I/O panel. The display connector layout is unlike anything AMD has at the moment, on its reference-design cards, and looks similar to what NVIDIA offers on some of its high-end graphics cards.
The connector layout sees four connectors on the first slot (same level as the card's PCB), which includes three DisplayPorts and one HDMI port; and one DVI connector on the second slot, with an air-vent next to it. The "Polaris" architecture supports DisplayPort 1.3 and HDMI 2.0a standards. DisplayPort 1.3 serves up enough bandwidth for 5K (5120 x 2880 pixels) at 60 Hz, 4K-HDR (3840 x 2160 with HDR) at 60 Hz, or 4K-SDR at 120 Hz. The SFF desktop setup running this card was able to render Hitman with Ultra settings and 2560x1440 pixels resolution, over 60 fps.

I'll believe it when I see it.
Or should this have AGP and PCI versions as well?
Can't wait to see what new cool tech AMD will provide with this architecture. The biggest thing that hyped me the most from AMD was MLAA. Especially since it works in all games. I hope they'll provide similar new feature.
I may be.
AMD makes power efficient and powerful card: Nvidiot logic; Wahhh, competition means my already obsolete card will be worth less, we don't want any competition.
AMD makes a card with new display logic to meet the complaints about standards that won't be relevant for 2-4 years: Wahhhh, it doesn't have 1985 VGA technology without an adapter.
AMD makes a card: WAHHHH, their backplate is 1.5723mm thick, I wanted 1.5724 minimum wahhhh.
TPU news post about AMD: WAHHHH TPU is heavily in favor of AMD.
TPU news post about Nvidia: WAHHH TPU is heavily in favor of Nvidia.
TPU news post about the sun rising: WAHHHH I hate time and the endless cycle of days causing age and time always moving forward, TPU is all about AGEISM!!!!!
Put on your big girl panties and stop the bitching.
Also, good to see a power efficient card with enough junk to push pixels, and some standards that will probably be obsolete by the time TV and monitor manufacturers come up with reasonably priced hardware with the same features.
Yes, a few silly comments but by in large just folks saying 'meh' to story that appeared last week. Source linked as Videocardz is 4 days ago. It's not news.
Connectors - I couldn't care. I use dual link DVI-D. My monitor is old but good.
If anyone is really complaining about the display standards shown in the photo, then people need to realize we are still far away from release and the layout could be very different than we are seeing right now. But I guess we needed some sorta news to counter Nvidia, so hmmm...regurgitate what another website put out a few days ago and call it news? Whatever, maybe some people only visit TPU for their tech news. I lawl and don't really care. Final announcements of the cards will put all the rumors to rest.
And man using it as if the Duke said it and not you, even more classic
