EVGA Announces its GeForce GTX 1080 Series

The EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 featuring EVGA ACX 3.0 cooling has arrived. This new graphics card features NVIDIA's new "Pascal" graphics processor which is the most advanced gaming GPU ever created. This breakthrough GPU delivers industry-leading performance, innovative new gaming technologies, and immersive, next-gen VR.

These cards also feature EVGA ACX 3.0 cooling technology. EVGA ACX 3.0 once again brings new and exciting features to the award winning EVGA ACX cooling technology. SHP 3.0 gives increased heatpipes and copper contact area for cooler operation, and optimized fan curve for even quieter gaming. Of course, ACX 3.0 coolers also feature optimized swept fan blades, double ball bearings and an extreme low power motor, delivering more air flow with less power, unlocking additional power for the GPU. Select EVGA ACX 3.0 models will even feature a 10CM fan and RGB LED, allowing complete control over the color from EVGA PrecisionX OC.
EVGA PrecisionX OC Unlocks the Power of Pascal
The next generation of EVGA PrecisionX has arrived with EVGA PrecisionX OC. This new version of Precision is built for the NVIDIA Pascal architecture and combines the best of EVGA Precision and EVGA OC Scanner to give you never before seen overclocking features and built in automatic overclock tuning.

Includes Exclusive Features for EVGA GeForce GTX 1080:
  • DirectX 12 OSD Support - See the on screen display on DirectX 12 games.
  • EVGA OC ScannerX Integration - Automatically find your optimal voltage/frequency curve!
  • K-Boost Function - Maximize your clocks with this exclusive feature.
  • RGB LED control (on EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW)

Honestly can't agree with that, but it's a taste thing of course.

I care only about the cooling capabilities, oc performance and noise.
The rest is irrelevant.

That is indeed where it's at. My case doesn't even have a window, if it was pink I'd likely not care.

Of course, that too is a personal thing...

Price? You whine about that a lot?

It's such a shame when you have to remove nice cooler to put a waterblock.

EVGA ACX is really in class of its own. Available yesterday 1080s from EVGA were sold-out faster than me writing this sentence. Just poof and gone.

Why do people complain about the look of the cooler... YOU NEVER SEE IT! Unless you have an upside down motherboard or one of the PCI riser things, all you see is the backplate, so that's FAR more important an aesthetic than the shroud. And in regards to the back-plate, this is a very nice looking card, especially with that bit of light coming through. If you can control the RGB and have it set a certain colour to match the rest of your build, I think that's a very nice touch.. Hopefully the 1070 version has the same. :)

If we do not see it, then why are they trying so hard to make it this much ugly?
The same goes for motherboards, etc. Few years ago we had matching colors, clean-looking, non-bullshit hardware that was functional and nice to look at.

Now everyone is aiming towards crappy plastic covers with flashy leds. PCBs get thinner, motherboards in higher price ranges are not even proper ATX. And did I mention "steel" cases that are flexible as hell? That's what the whole "gaming" marketing brought us.

From those, I think I'll take the WTF edition. What are the difference between it and the identical looking Super and Class? Just the clocks?

That FTW with ACX and a 2nd 8-pin is awfully tempting for $679. I think EVGA is also the first to confirm pricing closer to $600 for the lower models ($619 for the 08G-P4-6181-KR) which quiets some of the FE tax complaints. From what I've heard from folks that talked with them, it sounds like EVGA's inventory should be in better shape in a couple weeks.

I would describe it as "less than" rather than "like". More than likely EVGA's own blower model is cheaper because it is a cheaper quality blower fan, and they probably ditched the vapor chamber heatsink for just a plain old block heatsink. That's why it's cheaper.

I would still prefer Zotac AMP! Extreme! Edition that is built like a tank.

um with a base of 1733 mhz with overclock of, 2050mhz that is 320mhz, um just using first grade math that is pretty close to 20%,
