AM4 Socket Compatibility: be quiet! Announces Free Upgrade Kits

be quiet!, the market leader in PC power supplies in Germany for ten consecutive years, is committed to its high level of customer support. Today the company announces the availability of free AM4 upgrade kits to their customers. Owners of current be quiet! CPU coolers switching to AMD's new socket will not have to retire their reliable and proven coolers. Thanks to an elaborate product design, installing the coolers on the new platform will be straightforward and very similar to previous sockets.

All be quiet! CPU coolers that can currently be mounted to the AMD retention module already support socket AM4 CPUs, including the Pure Rock, Pure Rock Slim and Shadow Rock LP coolers.
Customers using other current be quiet! back plate mounted coolers will be provided the upgrade kit without additional costs. Starting January 9, 2017, the upgrade kit will be available for order free of charge from the service team using an online form on the be quiet! website. AM4 upgrade kits will be available for the Dark Rock 3, Dark Rock Pro 3, Dark Rock TF, Shadow Rock 2 and Shadow Rock Slim coolers.

In addition, be quiet! offers a free AM4 mounting bridge for customers who purchased the recently released Silent Loop all-in-one water cooling system. These will also be made available for order on the be quiet! website as of January 9, 2017.

Over the course of the year 2017, all be quiet! cooler products listed in the release at hand will gradually include the required AM4 mounting kit.

So this pretty much 100% confirms, once and for all, that the coolers do indeed use slightly different dimensions/mounting vs. previous socket. Hopefully all the Debby Doubters will stop spouting off how it was the exact same. :p

I reckon it might be same for those clips but for most aftermarket coolers which use their own custom backplates this means a upgrade to new mounting system. I want to see what CM offers for their users.
