Aerocool Announces the Cylon Mid-Tower

Aerocool today introduced the world to yet another member of the famed Cylons, of Battlestar Galactica fame. This one, however, isn't a mindless killing machine; rather, it's supposed to provide users the room and style to keep their PC components inside of (so, I guess it could actually become a killing machine as well, should something like Skynet rise). The Cylon presents itself as an aesthetically pleasing mid-tower solution, sporting an acrylic side panel and RGB lighting. The diagonal RGB strip in the front of the chassis is the origin for the Cylon moniker: light effects can flow through the diagonal strip according to a users' preference in a myriad of styles, thus mimicking the Cylons' famed, flowing red lighting.
The Cylon appears to be close to a Rosewill or Nox case in terms of overall platform, with the same 1x 120 mm top, 3x 120 mm front, and 1x 120 mm back fan mounting options, and an overall design that is reminiscent of those options from other manufacturers. CPU cooler support goes up to 155 mm, and VGA support can go up to 371 mm (sans one of the three possible front fans) or 346 mm (with a fan mounted in front of the VGA). There's support for 2x 2.5" drives, and 2x 3.5" drives. The top I/O is quite interesting, though, at 1x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0, audio, and an SD/microSD card reader.

No word on pricing, though considering the platform this case appears to be built on, the asking price shouldn't be too high, and could be close to $100.

Interested to find out if that card reader is wired to usb 3.0 or 2.0 header. If it's indeed USB 3.0 then having a single usb 3.0 connection on front is acceptable.

Looks like a neat case, how well it cools things inside will be a factor in how it does overall but also having that bit of "Bling" is nice. If it has all the features expected from a case of it's form-factor it's probrably worth considering for a build.

Well, as long as it's not based on the "Lucifer" series Cylon........
Not worried about Skynet, more like Alexa, complete with the evil laugh and all responding to the order "Kill" with the above-mentioned reply "By your command"....
