Yup, but rather than getting screwed just get a Zalman:p

Get a Zalman and then get their heatspreader lol.

This is awesome. AC makes great coolers for Video cards. Zalman is good too,. but more expensive.

I have this on an X1800XT, and it really doesn't make a big difference in chipset temps in my current case. Up by 1-2*C. It made a 5-7*C difference in my old case however (Generic Mid-tower w/3 80mm fans). If you have good airflow, it's not a problem. It's well worth the small increase in case temps for the additional cooling it provides for the gfx card, not to mention the silence compared to the stock fan. (on the 18/1900 series cards at least. I'm told the 1950s aren't nearly as loud)

Since I bought my card and Accelero X2 on Jan 26 and at that time all there was relating to the x1950 Pro was a press release from Arctic Cooling dated Oct 18th 2007 stating that Powercolor was using it on their x1950 Pro, and that it supported "x1800 series" "x1900 series" and "x1950 series" under the compatibility list.

Needless to say my card didn't last long enough to find out about this little issue. Also interesting is that the Powercolor card doesn't even use this heatspreader, on closer inspection after I found everything out it seems they attached tiny little heatsinks that are hard to notice in all the pics of their card with this cooler on it. :banghead:

Gee, that's terrible, and a very expensive waste. :(

Malware, add the link to the heatspreader. The Heatspreader now comes with it :wtf: send it back if you got the GPU after the announcement without a heatspreader. Its just $1 USD.
It doesn't hurt to sstick on a old chopped up P3 heatsink though. Dumbasses, if it gets too hot, cool it!

No one should have to chop up anything at all and stick it on their cards when all the information out there is saying that it will work on your card.

It took Arctic Cooling over 3 months to notify the public that the Accelero X2 would not in fact work on the x1950 Pro out of the box. The press release from Arctic Cooling stating that Powercolor was going to use the Accelero X2 on their x1950 Pro was dated Oct 18 2006. Previous to this announcement all that was listed on AC's website relating to the Accelero X2 was that it worked with the "x1800 series" "x1900 series" and "x1950 series". There was no "exceptions" like they list on the Silencer 5 were it works with all "except AIW"

The PC I put both the x1950 Pro and the Accelero X2 on was not my own. It was my g/f's pc and it cooked it's self during the first time she went to play CS:S while I was at work after I put it in her system. I wasn't there at the time to figure out it was getting too hot, and she isn't exactly all that interested in the tech side of pc's. She just wants to play games.

So yeah I guess I am a dumbass for believing that when Arctic Cooloing says "x1950 series" they don't mean the "x1950 Pro"
