Blizzard Remasters Warcraft III, Releases 2019 as Warcraft III: Reforged
It's not Warcraft 4, but this news is still better than nothing to fans of the beloved RTS series. At Blizzcon 2018, Blizzard was met with backlash at the announcement of Diablo for mobile platforms, but news of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos getting a full remaster on the PC is helping fan down some of those flames. Titled Warcraft III: Reforged, the remaster is due to be released some time in 2019.New cinematic and gameplay trailers were also released during Blizzcon, which are now up on YouTube to be seen by everyone:
Attendees of the event will also get to enjoy a playable demo of one of the most memorable sequences of the game, The Culling, which was part of the Human Campaign (Scourge of Lordaeron) in the game and marked a point of no return for Prince Arthas on his pathway to becoming, well, let's not spoil anything for those who may be new to the series.
Blizzard promises Warcraft III: Reforged is "a complete reimagining of a real-time strategy classic", with new visuals while retaining the campaigns and gameplay mechanisms of the 2002 hit game. There is no word yet on whether The Frozen Throne expansion will get a similar treatment, but it appears to be more a case of when at this point. The remaster will include custom games and the world editor, which helped form two of the most popular games ever- League of Legends and Dota 2- as well as plenty of fun mods on a smaller scale as well.
Warcraft III: Reforged is up for pre-order already, with a standard edition costing $29.99, a Spoils of War edition at $39.99 that includes special items for other Blizzard games, and a combo Spoils of War + Virtual ticket to Blizzcon 2019 for $79.99 if you were so interested. System requirements are on the lower side of average, which is not a big surprise, with even integrated graphics and recent laptop processors capable of powering the game. If this is your first time to the Warcraft franchise, read up on your lore for the first two games and expansions and be ready for hours of entertaining game play.

Man this js just easy money!
Annnnnd the eventual remaster of WOW!
Gore effects.
Voice acting.
They should not underestimate these.
Or at least include Warcraft 1 and 2 re-masters, can't be that hard... even if its more of a mod in Warcraft 3 then a full remaster, be better than nothing. I don't think they are proud of their first two games though, they had bad reviews from what I remember, so that is probably why they are not willing to revisit it, haha
One of the reasons I even like Warcraft is because it's actually unique for fantasy. It's not typical Orcs. They're aliens.
edit: Diablo announced a mobile only Diablo game as well. Look at that like/dislike ratio. Currently 10k vs 250k
Bethesda's Blades and now this. These games haven't even come out yet and I already hate this mobile trend.
I am really happy. SC remaster was worthy of the name, so I hope this shall be too. Game right now obviously lacks after effects and polishing, but they have close to 1 year to finish it.
As I also understand, at least the campaign itself will also have small pieces of new stuff, not just the old.
P.S.
Have to say, when after this they announced Diablo mobile game, my hype died down quite a bit, that was like spat in the face.
Never finished WC3, so I will be getting it. Be nice to see it fully support 4k res. Being only have 2k, still great.
I think this is great! Hoping they do Warcraft 1 and 2 as well and use the same engine.
