DeepCool Rolls Out the MATREXX 55 ADD-RGB Case in Silver

DeepCool introduced the MATREXX 55 ADD-RGB in a silver trim. The case now features a matte-silver finish across the metal parts of its front and site panels, combined with all-white interiors, and tinted tempered glass along the left-side and most of the front-panel. A key design element is the addressable-RGB diffuser running the height of the case along the front panel. All RGB LED elements in the case, including this light-strip, now feature addressable-RGB (3-pin) headers. The case offers four 2.5-inch and two 3.5-inch drive trays/mounts, three 140 mm front panel fan mounts, two 140 mm top mounts, and clearance for graphics cards up to 37 cm in length and 16.8 cm tall CPU coolers. The company didn't reveal pricing.

So these cases are pretty cool, two main issues though
The cabling cutouts don't take normal ATX M-ATX sizes into account and are covered by anything that isn't a slim verision
I Hope Deepcool listened to me and put a better Molex connector on the RGB controller because that thing was dangerous.

Other than that the case is a delight, just needs some tweaking

Offsetting the top vent is a massive design fail IMHO, it really looks odd and out of place to me, unless of course it's just a CAD/rendering goofy.....

I'm at the point where I just want plain aluminum cases with a with a window like what Lian Li used to make.

Yeah I don't get it. They make a super wide case and don't use the width to add a USP: being able to add very large diameter fans that can consequently run at very low RPM and therefore be silent. And the aesthetics on top. All it took was a bit of thought and a few extra holes to fit fans in different positions. And then they made it even worse by making the grille black.

Instead, you get off-center RGB 120mm junk everyone uses

Yes I have seen reports of this on NewEgg's reviews. I made efforts to make the power connector safe but it should be replaced.
Considering the high quality of many of their other products this one is very dissappointing especially as I had high hopes for it.

oh and just a little footnote, the price is double the case without Addressable RGB, you can get this case without the lights.

There is a number of irritating trends happening in the case market.
1. Lack of 5.25" bays.
2. Lack of enough 3.5" drive bays.
3. Buttons being in the top of cases rather than the more logical and easily accessible front panel.

Functionality counts for a lot and I'm one of those people that subscribe to the "Function over fashion" school of thought. It's like case makers are going out of their way to irritate people who value functionality..
