Overwatch 2 Supports PvE, Coming to BlizzCon

Blizzard's upcoming hero-shooter "Overwatch 2" will support a PvE game mode in addition to the usual PvP, according to an ESPN ESports report citing a source at BlizzCon. The game will reportedly feature at least one new hero, several new hero talents, and at least one 4-player PvE story mission set in Rio de Janeiro. There's a new game mode called "Push," debuting with a new map based on Toronto. The PvE mission and the Push game mode will be available to play to attendees at the 2019 BlizzCon expo, which opens this Friday (November 1), in Anaheim CA. Blizzard is also expected to announce "Diablo 4" at the show.

And most likely Diablo 2 Remaster. Which I'm looking forward to.

By supporting China over Hong Kong, Blizzard wont be getting a cent from me.
There is only one thing which matters for Blizzard and Activision and that is money.
They chose money over freedom so they can eat poop.

It will be interesting to see what dominates the news. Blitzchung support or the new announcements.

Intentional hype to raise the profile of this year's BlizzCon because they want to make up for the total disaster that happened last year.

I never liked Overwatch 1, felt like I was constrained in that FPS for some reason, like it was just a notch too slow or plain for my liking. Currently enjoying Fortnite, so I will pass.

Overwatch came out 3 years ago. For comparison, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive came out in 2012, PUBG came out in 2017, Rainbow Six: Siege came out in 2015, Fortnite came out in 2017, Destiny 2 came out in 2017, Team Fortress 2 came out in 2007. For a pay 2 play competitive FPS filled with microtransactions, that's a very short life span.

How is that being brainwashed? That's literally what they did. It's not a conspiracy or a made up event. Go back to your hole.

Allegedly. Presumably. According to rumors.

Not enough of these, @btarunr . By reading the title and the content, it seems like nothing significant happened here at TPU recently. Please ease on displaying rumors and assumptions as facts, pretty please.

I've quoted not one, but two sources. Please read the news from the front page for the source links.

While a link to the report would be nice to say the least, they are basically just saying what ESPN ESports is claiming. (EDIT like there is on the main page, so no problem there either)
X is going to happen, according to Y.

That is literally what you are suggesting should be done...and it is....

Oh whoopdee, 1 new hero and a PVE mode. Which is, hardly any different than what they are doing with OW now. So literally Blizz is renaming an expansion pack for OW1 into OW2 and probably charging full price for it...

If they don't do something really groundbreaking with it or revisit the original idea for OW which was an MMO, then there is next to no point. Just release it as an expansion.

And if they are going to do a Rio map, I sure hope they at least get the rivers full of fecal matter, used needles everywhere, and walking STD factories right.

blizzard or bethesda.. if i were to choose i'd pick blizzard.
fallout 76 - hella messy game and now charging subscription on a game that's still have alot of bugs.
diablo3 - log in issues day 1, hardest mode unplayable, real money auction house was... interesting.

Least blizzard put in the efforts to patch up their games added new lore and content to diablo3.
Based on this my money is on blizzard, but i will be keeping a close watch on the d4 and ow2 progress if its not any good I definitely will pass.

I'd actually argue that it's long-lived. By normally standards, you might be right but this is Activision we're discussing here, still trying to work out in my head how you disregarded that fact, with yearly Call of Duties.

You're right. I still think of Blizzard as a company that made Diablo, SC and WC, not a faceless conglomerate that shits out the same regurgitated garbage each year. My mistake.

Adding a "2" after the title to accompany one additional character and a game mode seems really shortsighted. Even if that type of update was delivered in free patch, burning the branding of "Overwatch 2" for such an event is stupid from a marketing standpoint. They must be in some dire straits if they are willing to risk annoying a dedicated player-base and lose out on the future income that could have been generated by a real Overwatch sequel several years from now.

All of this makes me worried for Warcraft 3: Reforged. That's the first Blizzard game in years and the complete lack of updates is concerning. I'm just waiting to hear how they plan to destroy it with microtransactions, skins, removing modding, etc...

Blizzard punished Blitzchung because they are capitalist pig blinded by chinese bourgeois cash. Who else will fight for our freedom against chains of capitalist oppression than good old communist comrade M&M that indisputably also taste very good when eaten.
For the people!
For freedom!!
