GeForce NOW is kicking off 2025 by delivering 14 games to the cloud this month, with two available to stream this week so members can get started on their New Year's gaming resolutions. This year's CES trade show will open with a keynote from NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang on Monday, Jan. 6. GeForce NOW is offering members front-row seats in a virtual stadium, so they can hear the latest announcements and get hyped with livestreams - no downloads or installations required. It's all powered by GeForce NOW cloud streaming and hosted by ZENOS, an innovative virtual stadium platform. Members can enter the virtual stadium starting at 3 p.m. PT on Monday, Jan. 6. Diablo IV received some severe backlash over microtransactions when it launched back in 2023, with some bundles even costing more than the $69.99 base game. It appears, however, that its microtransaction-laden monetization strategy has paid off, according to an accidental leak on LinkedIn from senior product manager, Harrison Froeschke.

According to the now-deleted LinkedIn profile update, Diablo IV has managed to generate a total of $1 billion in total revenue since it launched, with $150 million of that coming from microtransactions and in-game purchases. Perhaps more interestingly, though, is the fact that this is unusually low for an Activision-Blizzard game.

Support for Battle.net on GeForce NOW expands this GFN Thursday, as titles from the iconic StarCraft and Diablo series come to the cloud. StarCraft Remastered, StarCraft II, Diablo II: Resurrected and Diablo III are part of 16 new games joining the GeForce NOW library of more than 1,900 titles. Plus, a new update rolling out for members this week brings AV1 streaming to Mac M3 computers. This feature will improve game-streaming quality for members on M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max devices

Plenty of Space in Hell

The Rising Sun Goes Ultimate
GeForce NOW is rolling out the green carpet to gamers in Japan, expanding next-generation cloud gaming worldwide. The Ultimate membership tier is now available to gamers in the region, delivering up to 4K gaming at up to 120 frames per second, all at ultra-low latency - even on devices without the latest hardware. Gamers in Japan can now access from the cloud triple-A titles by some of the world's largest publishers. Capcom's Street Fighter 6 and Resident Evil Village will be coming to GeForce NOW at a later date for members to stream at the highest performance. GeForce NOW will operate in Japan alongside GeForce NOW Alliance partner and telecommunications company KDDI, which currently offers its customers access to GeForce RTX 3080-powered servers, in addition to its mobile benefits. Blizzard has released the release notes for Diablo IV 1.2 Patch that will be launching on October 17th, alongside Season of Blood. According to Blizzard, some updates come as a result of the community feedback, and include fixes for specific platforms and some that are general updates for all platforms.

The biggest update is that new Unique Items, that can only be acquired by playing on World Tier IV in either the Eternal or Seasonal Realms, are now much more powerful, something that has been requested by community. Blizzard has also updated Elemental Resistances, that will now be much more important, and includes extensive class overhauls, updating pretty much all classes and their abilities. The new Diablo IV 1.2 Patch also includes a bunch of gameplay, experience, balance, and Battle Pass updates, as well as comes with an extensive list of bug fixes.

Each week, we bring you news of the latest DLSS and ray tracing integrations in games and apps. Last week, The Lamplighters League and Lodestar launched with DLSS 2, DESORDRE: A Puzzle Game Adventure upgraded to full ray tracing, and Deliver Us Mars has added NVIDIA Hybrid Ray Tracing Translucency, further enhancing the game's graphics. This week, Lords of the Fallen launches with DLSS 3, the DLSS and Reflex-enhanced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Beta begins, action fans can try a length DLSS 3-enabled RoboCop: Rogue City demo, gamers can grab our new Alan Wake 2 GeForce RTX 40 Series bundle, and we're highlighting Highrise City, another indie title featuring DLSS.

Blizzard has officially announced the second season for Diablo IV, called Season of Blood. The Season of Blood will launch on October 17 and bring several updates, including a new questline, five additional endgame bosses, as well as some comunity-requested quality-of-life updates.

The announcement came at the Gamescom Opening Night Live, together with the new announce trailer, showing some of the updates. The trailer also introduces Erys, a vampire hunter that will be voiced by Gemma Chan.

Blizzard has released the Patch 1.0.3 for Diablo IV fixing various bugs and issues as well as brings balance tweaks for all classes and other game improvements. As expected, Battlenet will automatically download the 200 MB update next time you launch the client.

According to the rather extensive changelog, the Patch 1.0.3 fixes various dungeons, events, activities, gameplay, local co-op, quests, UI, and other miscellaneous issues. When it comes to specific and important fixes, Blizzard has boosted XP award after completing Nightmare Dungeons, as well as Helltide events. Bosses in Helltide also drop higher quality loot, and The Tree of Whispers also gives higher XP rewards. Blizzard has also increased skill boosts for each of classes, and some balance tweaks.

As we enter summer, a blizzard from hell is this week's AAA title, a game some of you might already be playing, due to the limited editions coming with early access. Luckily, that's not all we have for you this week, as we also have thunderous gods, side scrollers, lots of horror and some harmony for you. Don't forget to go out in the sunshine and do something in the real world too, summer won't last forever.

The endless battle between the High Heavens and the Burning Hells rages on as chaos threatens to consume Sanctuary. With ceaseless demons to slaughter, countless Abilities to master, nightmarish Dungeons, and Legendary loot, this vast, open world brings the promise of adventure and devastation. Survive and conquer darkness—or succumb to the shadows.

On June 6, a new plane of Hell will open, giving way to endless hours of demon-slaying fun in Diablo IV. The team saw this as an opportunity to improve the accessibility offerings within the game, and they took careful steps to ensure that every new feature added would break down barriers that kept players from playing—a flame that guided them all through development.

OUR GUIDING FLAME
"The only limitation to adventuring in Sanctuary should be interest, not capability," said lead accessibility designer Drew McCrory when the team began ideating on the game's potential accessibility features. Starting with the bedrock laid forth in Diablo II: Resurrected, the team began to construct accessibility features that struck a balance between being useful for players with disabilities while being careful not to mar gameplay for others. From there, the team continued to smooth out the rough edges of the features in their incubation tank until they provided additional usability without altering the core gameplay loop. What they were left with were accessibility options that empower as many players as possible.

The Blessed Mother's return is nigh. Soon, you'll assume the mantle of Sanctuary's wanderer, and embark upon a quest to cull the unspeakable monstrosities that blight the land. But, before you begin your fight for the fate of the world, grab a seat beside the campfire and gaze upon the gameplay that Diablo IV has in store.

HELL WELCOMES ALL
Diablo IV is the ultimate action RPG experience with endless evil to slaughter, countless abilities to master, nightmarish dungeons, and legendary loot. Embark on the campaign solo or with friends, through beautifully dark settings, or explore a shared world where players can meet in towns to trade, team up to battle world bosses, or descend into PVP zones to test their skills against other players.

Over the last few months, we have communicated details about customization, Endgame offerings, moment-to-moment gameplay, and given players a first-hand taste of Sanctuary through Act I during our Early Access and Open Beta Weekends. But what about the post-launch experience, and how do we plan to increase the heat? We'll answer this question by explaining our approach to Seasons, Season Journeys, Battle Pass, and the Shop, and how they work in unison to enhance and diversify the robust campaign and Endgame offerings available to players at launch. Stoking the Flames of Hell: Seasons
Seasons are quarterly releases that will add additional gameplay features, questlines (with new and old faces alike), Battle Passes, Legendary Items, class balance changes, quality-of-life improvements, and much more. Seasons will introduce fresh concepts and ideas into the world of Sanctuary, for all wanderers to enjoy while simultaneously iterating upon your baseline experience. Above all, we want Seasons to be celebratory moments; something to look forward to and enjoy with your friends and other members of the Diablo community. Season 1 will begin in mid to late July, and to embark on this next chapter, you must first complete the Campaign. Because of this, we recommend you begin your pursuit of Lilith in advance so you can jump into the first Season as soon as it becomes available.

Blizzard has released a new post outlining some of the key elements of the Diablo 4 game, an all new game developer video, as well as the final and launch system requirements for the game. The latest post talks about the character build like skill tree nodes and passives, cosmetics and character creation like transmogs and mounts, and gear.

There is also a whole new game developer video, which is a part of the Inside the Game video series, talking about choices that come with character creation, character builds, gear. Hosted by Rod Fergusson, general manager, Adam Jackson, lead class designer, Melissa Corning, lead game producer, and Joe Shely, game director, this latest developer video gives a bit more insight about the gameplay experience.

Customization is a cornerstone of Diablo IV. From how your character looks, to the Skills they wield, to the appearance of their Gear and Mount, Diablo IV empowers players with a level of agency never previously offered in a Diablo game. The decision of what type of wanderer you want to play in the world of Sanctuary begins at the Class selection screen and follows you into the Endgame. It's up to YOU to decide how your character will grow and evolve as they pursue Lilith.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING SERVER SLAM
Server Slam will give players one final weekend in Hell to experience a fraction of what Diablo IV has to offer, while simultaneously testing the capabilities of our servers prior to launch. The Prologue and entirety of Act I will be your canvas to paint with the remains of slain demons. Fractured Peaks, the first Zone, is yours to navigate as you please. Traverse its rugged landscape as Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue, or Sorcerer, unleashing devastating power upon foes, and honing your unique skillset in the process.

Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that Diablo IV is feature complete and has reached a development milestone of being software version 1.0. The official Diablo Twitter account posted a not so cryptic tweet boasting the news: "Diablo IV has gone gold. Can you feel her presence now? See you in Sanctuary. 6.6.23 🔥." The general gaming public will gain access to the fully finished game on June 6, but a select lucky few have been toying with early preview builds over the past months. The last Diablo IV closed beta program attracted plenty of gaming news attention for a technical snafu, wherein owners of a particular NVIDIA GPU model found out the hard way, during D4 playtest sessions, about underlying faults in their chosen silicon - Blizzard is leading an investigation into the matter, with assistance from Team Green.

It is hoped that Blizzard's Diablo team will have all of these hardware melting issues resolved in time for Diablo IV's finalized launch date. In the meantime hardcore fans of the series are encouraged to absorb plenty of preview/marketing material, and go about swatting up on trainer material. Blizzard has uploaded several gameplay guide videos to the official Diablo YouTube channel - the company has enlisted the helpful services of Wudijo, a veteran Diablo streamer, to chaperone viewers through the game's systems.

Blizzard has released a new gameplay footage from Diablo IV beta as a part of its "adventure with a dev", hosted by Lead Game Designer, Zaven Haroutunian. In the meantime, and as it was expected, another 36 minutes long video from a Chinese player has also leaked online, showing a lot more gameplay.

Blizzard's own video shows the Lead Game Designer, Zaven Haroutunian, slashing his way through a dungeon and talking about what players can expect to see in the beta phase. It is a rather short video from Kor Dragan Barracks, but gives you a nice idea on what went into designing this game and what to generally expect from it.

NVIDIA Reflex is a must-have in games, reducing system latency so your actions occur quicker, making you more competitive in multiplayer matches, and single-player titles more responsive and enjoyable. Reflex is available in the most popular multiplayer and esports games, is supported on GeForce graphics cards dating back to the 900 Series, and only takes a single click to enable.
