Blizzard Announces Diablo IV Season of Blood Second Season at Gamescom Opening Night Live

Blizzard has officially announced the second season for Diablo IV, called Season of Blood. The Season of Blood will launch on October 17 and bring several updates, including a new questline, five additional endgame bosses, as well as some comunity-requested quality-of-life updates.

The announcement came at the Gamescom Opening Night Live, together with the new announce trailer, showing some of the updates. The trailer also introduces Erys, a vampire hunter that will be voiced by Gemma Chan.
"At the behest of their dark master, a newly turned army of ravenous vampires has set their sights on Sanctuary. The master's sinister plot remains a shrouded mystery but their pursuit for the blood of innocents has caused an uproar. You must learn to hunt the hunter—your fate depends on it," as described by Blizzard.

The list of community-requested quality-of-life updates include:
  • More efficient Inventory management for Gems.
  • Paragon Points, Skill Points, Potion Charges, and Obol capacity upgrades will now carry over into a new Season once achieved with an Eternal or previous Seasonal Realm character.
  • Changes to the functionality of status effects such as Vulnerable, Overpower, Critical Strike Damage and also Elemental Resistances.
As said, Diablo IV Season of Blood will begin on October 17, and Blizzard has promised to share more details as the date approaches.

Hopefully this does not end up like Diablo 3, which was at first a remarkable release.

Diablo 4, Season 2, Season of QoL.

Looks like Season 2 has even less seasonal content than their first season, which is an accomplishment as they added basically nothing.

The least fun I've ever had with a game in my entire life. From the bestiary to the mechanics to the leveling, terrible experience and waste of money. I feel the developers never played Diablo 1 and forgot why the ambiance and the dungeon crawling made this game so unique. I can't believe I payed $69 for it. POE is free and even after 10 years I still have more fun playing that one. I will never spend another dime on their Diablo-related productions, this is it for me.

PoE is free to try
You need the stash tabs and they're not free - I would not have had a problem if PoE was 60$ one time purchase, but to nickel and dime me for essential gameplay aspects ... sorry, no!
The microtransactions should've been purely cosmetics

I'm not sure you understood how the tabs work. I'm not getting into a debate on POE vs D3/4 (I have loved Diablo 1, 2 and 2 resurrected above anything else), so I'll just address your comments that seem unreasonable to me.

POE is free, end of story. You don't need to pay to do anything. I wish D4 had been this way, and I would have been able to uninstall at no cost. To give you a bit of perspective, counting the transactions over time, I have willingly spent $180 on POE over something like 10 years (!!!!!) for cosmetics and the tabs you're mentioning (TABs only: I would be surprised if I paid more than $40). Time played according to Steam: 4036.1 hours.

POE cost of game: $180/4036.1= 0.04 an hour so far, over 10 years of fun.
D4 Cost of game: $69/20 = $3.45 an hour, around 20 hours of complaints.

With the $60 you mentioned, you can buy any tabs and more (off the top of my head I have something like 30 mixed tabs in game, I use only 5 of them!), so you can do exactly what you said, a one time purchase that, again, you don't need to play anyway. So it seems like you don't have a problem indeed.

To go back to D4, I am bitter, really upset, because they keep f****ing up this license and milking me every time for believing in them. They keep twisting the game to please social medias and angry teenagers and they leave the silent hardcore 40+ original fans on the side of the road. I have been waiting since Diablo 2 to enjoy a new version and to this day I'm still waiting. So yes, when I read this announcement, it makes me want to break something. Ggggggnnnnnrrrrr!

PoE is free to play until you get to a point when you actually need stash tabs, which for a new player is at least 10 hours into the game, but more typically, at least 30 hours into the game.

Even then, the only essential tabs are a Maps Tab and a Currency Tab($22.5 not on sale, typically ~$11.25 on sale). The total cost of one of every stash tab while not on sale(~$81) barely costs more than the base version of Diablo 4, and cheaper than the base version of Diablo 4 when they are all on sale, which happens every season.

Somehow, a company with all the resources in the world, couldn't develop a decent sequel. The game is unfinished, doesn't seem true to the OG franchise, and just isn't fun. And now they are merging with Microsoft to become an even bigger dysfunctional failure, and the regulators around the world let it happen. Saw the previews, and didn't buy the game, dodged a bullet.
