Looks like Season 2 has even less seasonal content than their first season, which is an accomplishment as they added basically nothing.
not gonna bother with MTX 4 until it's 75% off or more
You need the stash tabs and they're not free - I would not have had a problem if PoE was 60$ one time purchase, but to nickel and dime me for essential gameplay aspects ... sorry, no!
The microtransactions should've been purely cosmetics
POE is free, end of story. You don't need to pay to do anything. I wish D4 had been this way, and I would have been able to uninstall at no cost. To give you a bit of perspective, counting the transactions over time, I have willingly spent $180 on POE over something like 10 years (!!!!!) for cosmetics and the tabs you're mentioning (TABs only: I would be surprised if I paid more than $40). Time played according to Steam: 4036.1 hours.
POE cost of game: $180/4036.1= 0.04 an hour so far, over 10 years of fun.
D4 Cost of game: $69/20 = $3.45 an hour, around 20 hours of complaints.
With the $60 you mentioned, you can buy any tabs and more (off the top of my head I have something like 30 mixed tabs in game, I use only 5 of them!), so you can do exactly what you said, a one time purchase that, again, you don't need to play anyway. So it seems like you don't have a problem indeed.
To go back to D4, I am bitter, really upset, because they keep f****ing up this license and milking me every time for believing in them. They keep twisting the game to please social medias and angry teenagers and they leave the silent hardcore 40+ original fans on the side of the road. I have been waiting since Diablo 2 to enjoy a new version and to this day I'm still waiting. So yes, when I read this announcement, it makes me want to break something. Ggggggnnnnnrrrrr!
Even then, the only essential tabs are a Maps Tab and a Currency Tab($22.5 not on sale, typically ~$11.25 on sale). The total cost of one of every stash tab while not on sale(~$81) barely costs more than the base version of Diablo 4, and cheaper than the base version of Diablo 4 when they are all on sale, which happens every season.
