Resident Evil 4 Remake in the Works, Bound for 2022
Capcom has had great success in remaking "Resident Evil" titles from the 1990s. These are not remasters, but rather retelling of their campaign stories in completely remade production designs, with new gameplay mechanics. Riding on the backs of "Resident Evil 2" and "Resident Evil 3" remakes, Capcom has started work on a "Resident Evil 4" remake, according to VideoGamesChronicle, citing industry sources.
Capcom is reportedly working with Osaka-based game studio M-Two on the "Resident Evil 4" remake, and if all goes well, the game could come out in 2022. "Resident Evil 4," released in 2005, marked many firsts for the franchise. It was a comeback title after nearly 6 years of lull, and introduced modern dynamically rendered world, unlike older RE games that used pre-rendered worlds. Industry insider Dusk Golem reports that the RE4 remake has a larger production team than the previous two remakes.

resident evil 1 has been remade and if they put out another one with current engine people are gonna go ... again?

Lots of people don't like the "reimaginings" of games that were fully 3D in the first place. I see why RE2 and RE3 needed to be remade, since they had outdated camera systems, prerendered elements, and were somewhat compromised by their limitations, but RE4 is already a great game. Consider supporting the guy behind the fan HD project, as you can install it over your existing RE4 purchase without shelling out $60. They also went to the trouble of sourcing the original locations for the textures. It's the old game with better textures and models, not a full priced retread like what Capcom wants you to buy.
Short version. MESSAGE TO CAPCOM. DON'T DO THIS. DON'T REMAKE RE4. REMAKE CODE VERONICA
RE1 and RE0 got HD remasters, they do not need to be remade. If that was the case of how they wanted to go back to older titles then they should also be doing HD remasters of the original RE2 and RE3....which I would seriously love but c'mon we know that will not ever happen. They are going after the cash cow known as RE4. It makes financial sense to do RE4 over CV, but for fans of the series, not fans of a single game, it is an insult and disservice to us all to think we wanted RE4 over CV
I said HD REMASTERS RE1 and RE0 got HD Remasters, those are not remakes. Someone said they should remake RE1 like 2019 RE2 and 2020 RE3 I was commenting towards that idea....which if that happened would mean RE1 not only got remastered for originally the Gamecube, then a HD version of the remaster for PC, and then a full on remake like 2019 RE2 and 2020 RE3. That is a lot of rehashing that I don't think any company would be willing to entertain. Literally remaking remasters lol. I was using some hypothetical situation to say that just isn't on the table for Capcom in my opinion. Also if that was their line of thinking then they would have remastered RE2 and RE3 too. If they were to do both a remaster and remake of RE1 then why would they do JUST remakes for RE2 and RE3? (ie. imagine 1998 RE2 + 1999 RE3 being remastered in the vein of how RE1 got remastered, which updated visuals, added content, gave some good quality of life improvements to game play mechanics, etc) instead of going straight to remakes for RE2 and RE3. But there just isn't any way they are going to make 3+ versions of a specific title that could be considered true remasters or remakes. I would love to see such HD remasters happen for 98 RE2 and 99 RE3 in the vein of RE HD Remaster but I know it will never happen because it isn't as profitable of a game in comparison to modernized remakes. RE1 had its original and remaster, and then HD version. RE2 has its original then its remake. Same for RE3. They will not go back to remake RE1 in the newest RE game engine, and this same thought process of mine applies to why they wouldn't go back to RE2 and RE3 to remaster the originals in the vein of RE HD Remaster.
