This free game thing is a good thing, even though I dont own an epic acount and will not as I use steam and I'm happy with it. This will in turn make steam and others do the same.

I’ve been collecting games from epic for about a year or so.. I’m still waiting for steam to do the same. Steam is like a grumpy old man telling you to get off his lawn when it comes to free games.

So you only have a Steam account? In addition to not having an Epic account, you don't have a Uplay, Origin, Rockstar, Activision/Blizzard (deleted mine) or Bethesda account either? I mean, you do you, but you're missing out on some great games.

I know right! So hilarious that someone is so brainwashed and backwards that will openly admit they use a gamelauncher but are opposed to all others, yet have ZERO legit reason other than obviously being a sheep.

I hate launchers and I have legit reason. I feel like shouldn't have to log in every time I want to play a offline/single player game, hence with the exception of origin I avoided the others like the plague. With this free game 'nonsense'(I'm a skeptic and pretty sure they're mining and selling our usage data) Rockstar and Uplay finally have breached the gates.

Yes I know, many exclusives coming or released only in those platforms, well I prefer to wait for the exclusive games to be released on steam. Usually exclusives lasts a year.

Uhm....People said the same thing about STEAM when it first started...when you could play different games on the same account on different PC's and they gave anyone that claimed to have an ATI GFX the Orange Box....Steam did what they had to do to attract customers from sites like Direct 2 Drive at first to....Epic will be Steam before long

Been buying alot of games from epic games within the past 2 months. Just bought Watch dogs 2 last night. They do give away some good games and have some good sales. Also thank goodness for the 10$ off coupon. Now if only they bought back Paragon.

I disagree wholeheartedly
jmcslobUhm....People said the same thing about STEAM when it first started...
Yes because it was somewhat broken because they underestimated demand that would be placed on the service, and bug ridden on arrival took them nearly 3 years to iron out the issues and take it out of "BETA." If you were to find me before 2007 and ask me about Steam, my response would roughly be "Steam is garbage; change my mind." That opinion stuck until Orange box actually Half-Life 2, Steam be damned, it was Half-Life.
PC's and they gave anyone that claimed to have an ATI GFX the Orange Box.... Steam did what they had to do to attract customers from sites like Direct 2 Drive at first to
Steam lauched in 2003, D2D a year later, Orange box was released in 2007. What you are implying wasn't reality.
....Epic will be Steam before long
Despite the efforts of other platforms like GOG, Steam largely went uncontested until the the second publisher backed DD platform, Origin, was launched by EA. EGS does not have this luxury so it can't ever become steam, it's just going to be an alternative to Steam which it already is.

A free game is a free game and even though multiple launchers are a pain, they're a small price to pay in the long run.

I'm not a 100% gamer, but I can't understand the hate for Epic. Am I missing something here?
