The former console entertainment system only service 'XBox Live' gets spread to the PC crowd as well Peter Moore from Microsoft announced lately. 'Windows Live' users will be able to play certain games together with people sitting infront of an XBox. One of the first games will be the Vista version of Halo 2. The release date for Halo 2 will be May 8th.
The cost for this service is 49.95$ a year for the Gold membership. The Silver membership is for free but you won't be able to utilize all the features of course.

13 Comments on XBox Live network will be expanded to the PC
If they force us to pay, we will hack. The PC is a much easier place to hack things for, so its not wise to go against PC users.
It is available for both, Xbox and Xbox 360. It just depens on what console you use it, the 360 makes more use of it.

a lot of people play multilayer on pc because you don't have to pay, that why i don't have xbl
microsoft will have to change the name because the pc isn't an "xbox" so "xbox live" doesn't make sense for the pc!
Sorry, got a little excited on this.
Beta'd it not interested.
I imagine there will be a way to do it with Halo2 for pc.
In otherwords, pc-pc mulitplayer will be free.

Im going to finish The Death Machine project machine to go 360 killin!!!:nutkick:
The Death Machine:
Intel 975x motherboard
Core 2 Quad Extreme:respect:
4 gigs OCZ with the liquid cooling heatspreaders
Dual Raptor 74 gig in RAID 0
Geforce 8800gtx (for now, till I get the R600 and crossfire them)
Custom made liquid cooling system that cools everything. (processor, video, Ram hard drive coolers):D
The Death Machine is at 40% completion, all I need now is a big enough case with a Huge power supply, and my hard drives and the 8800GTX!!!
Im going to take their precious Halo 2 and murder them with the ultimate controller:
the keyboard and mouse!!!!
The Death Machine is going to have so much power,
that Im leasing it to the local gaming forum here in town for $200/week so they can let the little kiddies know what a real PC can do. (everyone tries to tell me that computers suck, and the 360 is the way to go, until they see what my current system does with the ATI x850XT hooked up to the forum's 32 inch plasma!!!)
My sponsor is the one putting all the cash in this, and therefore he will be reaping most the Dollar Bills.
